I'm currently a patient at a very well-known fertility clinic but am not happy with the care I'm receiving. My doctor does not believe in/understand basal body temperature charting and I don't feel he takes me very seriously. I have done a lot of research into infertility but I feel like it's his way or the highway.
I need a doctor who will listen to me and not blow me off. I need a doctor who will take me seriously and not blow off my questions. I need a doctor that will not only look at the charts I'm trying to show him but understand them too! I need a doctor that won't insist I need to come in for bloodwork to determine if I've ovulated or not. I need a doctor who won't treat me like a number and order tests just cause that's what they do for all women who come into their office.
And, I have all the results of the tests I've had done. I don't want to repeat them and have to start back at square one!
I realize the diagnosis and probably the treatment will be the same. But there's a lot to be said for how the patient is treated and how the patient feels about the doctor.
I'm in Howard County Maryland so the closer to there the better although I'm getting so fed up with my current doctor I'm willing to travel, even to VA. But I don't want to travel to VA just to find out the doctor is just as closed-minded as my current one.
Thanks!
(oh, and some background, I have a 4yr old son that was conceived naturally w/o fertility problems. I've been diagnosed with PCOS. I am not ovulating regularly and most definitely not on day 14.
