My husband and I live in New England, and with his recent layoff we are contemplating a relocation to Nevada.
Trouble is, I've only been there once, 12 years ago, and he never has. We don't know much about it, except what I've been able to find on the internet and vaguely remember from my trip to Reno in 1996.
Would some of you Nevada Mamas (or Papas -- we're very egalitarian) be willing to act as mentors for us? To answer questions -- even if they're silly ones! -- and perhaps point me to where we can find out more?
We would like to be within an easy days' drive from the Bay area where our grandparents live, so I am thinking about the Reno area. Also, I did like it there in 1996 -- not Reno itself, with all the casinos, but the countryside outside Reno was just gorgeous.
We don't gamble, and we prefer to live very simply. We aspire to minimalism.
So would any of you be willing to share your knowledge helping us find ourselves a new life on the other side of the country? I have tons of questions!
Thank you!
(And of course, if anyone is thinking about moving to New England, I'd be more than happy to return the favor.)
