Girl Scouts

I did a search on this yesterday, but didn't find anything. I apologize if I'm asking something that's been answered 20 times already.

DD decided she wanted to do Daisies this year, so I signed her up yesterday. On the Health History form, I was supposed to fill in the dates of all her vaxes. Instead, I just wrote "exempt" across that space. (I have a religious exemption on file with the school.) Are the Girl Scouts going to give me trouble about DD's vax status? Has anyone had to file a religious exemption with their troop or regional organization? I certainly don't want DD to be discriminated against because of her vax status.

My girls aren't vaxed and were in GS. It wasn't a problem.

I was a Daisy leader. We reviewed the med forms, to see if there was anything we needed to know-allergies or whatever, and sealed them in the envelopes. We kept them with us for meetings, etc in case they were needed for medical treatment. Noone else saw the forms, they weren't submitted anywhere or anything. We weren't looking at the forms as schools do for some purpose of following state requirements or something. So it shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks so much for the info! I really appreciate it!

I'm in the same boat. Our daisies meet for 90 minutes once a month. Why do they need this info? They're meeting at her school, where they've already collected the info.

I just didn't want the leaders (other parents) to know I don't vax as they already think I'm an odd duck since I only bring in healthy snacks and nursed my kids for waaaaay too long.

MommyDOK,
Don't ever worry about what others think. You only need to be concerned about doing the best for your child.
