Hi Tasha.

It is my understanding that anything with yeast in it is a no no. We remove yeast, baking powder...and I think that's it. I'm in a hurry so I may have forgotten something. A lot of people try to remove flour, baking soda, rice, pasta...everything like that. I personally don't think all those things are necessary, but definitely the yeast for us.

I was raised evangelical in the uk (slightly different to US evangelicals perhaps?)

I came out of mainstream christianity about 10 or so years ago and started down the path toward Judaism. I have sat on the fence and got a little lost along the way (several times!)

I have also encountered Twelve Tribes here in the UK. I like them, but found it a bit disappointing that they cook on shabbat and don't remove yeast for Pesach. I would still like to go back and visit again though, I like their lifestyle.

I suppose that now, although I still feel a little lost, I do tend towards the Messianic way. I try to respect Shabbat and the feasts, but can't live a very orthodox lifestyle as I'm married to an agnostic who's not very impressed by religion of any flavour.

I run a messianic homemaking website too: http://messianickah.ning.com/

There are also many Gentile believers who worship with Messianic Jews and consider themselves Messianic because they follow a Biblical model for their lives by observing Torah, the Shabbat (sabbath) and Biblical Holidays (Rosh HaShana, Yom Kippur, etc.) For more info see BiblicalHolidays.com if you have any other questions . I'm posting this here in tribes because I want this to just be a like-minded, sharing thread. Not a debate thread. :

I didn't know this option was out there?? I was born and raised Jewish. I am going to go back and read more. I feel like this was kept from me. I was told my entire life if you believe in Jesus, you're not a Jew.
