Breastmilk donation in St. Paul and surrounding?

I know a mom in St. Paul that is adopting a baby girl, due next month, with possible numerous health issues. Parents want to make life as easy as possible for her, since she will have enough to deal with as it is, and so plan to feed her breastmilk. However, Lyn had breast cancer several yrs back and is unable to breastfeed. She's looking for milk donations for her daughter and would be grateful for any help she can get. I'll be donating, but my daughter is much older and it would be best for this babe to get milk from a mom with a child closer to her age. Mine will be stored until baby girl is close to that age. They are hoping the birth mother will be willing to pump for the first week or so, but after that will be needing help. Anyone willing and able to help would be greatly appreciated. Baby isn't due for a few more wks, so hopefully they will have time to store up enough milk to keep her on straight breastmilk for awhile. They of course are willing to pay for storage supplies and shipping costs, though if you live in the area I'm sure pickup is feasible as well. Please PM me if you would like more info.

I'd be happy to help but my little guy is 9 mo, so that wouldn't help them with trying to get "newborn" milk. In any case, feel free to PM me.

That's great that she's interested in using donor milk! It's probably a dumb question, but has she looked into Milkshare yet? There are quite a few MN donors there, but not many recipients - I've donated 2x on there. I don't currently have any milk stored and my baby is 11 months old now, but PM me if you haven't found enough yet and I can start pumping now and help a little bit. I'm in Brooklyn Park and I'm sure we could make pick up arrangements.

She did find milkshare. She just got a prescription for a milkbank, so the first 5 days she's going to have taken care of. She has 100oz stored, I'm shipping out 100oz as soon as the cooler gets here (including colostrum/milk from a mom with a newborn), and she found milkshare. I also have the possibility of getting a 6mth supply from someone here in town. So hopefully we have her covered (just keep your fingers crossed that I get that 6mth supply!). If everything works out, we may actually be able to keep her supplied with breastmilk for the first 12mths.
