HELP!!! Sewing machine issues!!

Okay, so I have a Janome sewing machine (and I am not even sure that matters) but I took out my bobbin to refill it and when I put everything back in things are terribly messed up!!! Ugh- it keep nesting on the bottom side of the fabric (near the feed dogs). I am assuming it has something to do with the tension but I can't remember how to fix it! Can anyone help me?

Could you have the bobbin in incorrectly? Is there a stray thread caught under the throat plate or lint? Is it threaded correctly? Try all those things first. It's usually something really simple.

threading the machine incorrectly can also caused this..so it might not be tension, check to see if you put the bobbin in correctly..some machine are clockwise and some anti clockwise.

YES- everything is in correctly, cleaned and checked for stray threads! Other suggestions?

what type of thread did you wind, is it the same you have been using? can you try some thread that worked before to see if that's the problem?

I'd check the top threading of the machine... just to be for cetain... I know I know but it never hurts to unthread the whole thing even if you think you have it right and do it again, same with the bobbin but most likely it's the top causeing the problem underneath.

Your top thread tension may be too loose.

Even if the top threading looks right, pull it out and redo it. I can't even tell you how many times that has solved weird sewing problems for me! Also changing the needle sometimes helps.

I have this problem with my Janome on occasion, i would first check that you are using a janome bobbin, second, did the thread wind on to the bobbin correctly. Sometimes mine doesn't put the correct tension on while winding and i get the same problem.

Also, use your finger and see if there are any rough spots on your bobbin. I find that any of these "burrs" can cause major headaches when sewing, but especially the nesting under the fabric type deal.

My first machine was made by Janome and as it aged I had to hold the thread tight while the bobbin would wind to keep the tension even. Even then I only put a little thread on at a time because it seemed that if I had a full bobbin the machine would do exactly as you are saying knot up on the bottom. The threading was never the problem it was always how the bobbin was wound.
