Needle Felting Supplies

I wanted to try needle felting and was wondering where a good place was to order supplies. I looked at Peace Fleece but they don't sell the foam mats referred to in everything I've read. Thanks!

I have been looking around online too. The last issue of Living Crafts magazine has a huge listing of places, but the two I will probably order from are

A child's dream come true
and
Weir Dolls

Weir Dolls has a nice starter set and it would probably be hard to buy everything separately for that price. It's on my Christmas list

You might want to scrap the foam mat idea and use styrofoam block, instead (you know, that big hunk of packaging styrofoam that comes with electronics and whatnot). I find the foam to be waaay too squishy--especially for detailed work---it just kind of sucks the felt down into it with the force of the needles. The stryrofoam can get kind of crumbly, but it's really not bad.

I would recommend www.earthguild.com I shop there and its great.

(and you dont need the foam block, you can just use a towel rolled up, or a pillow)

I bought a piece of 2 inch foam in a remnant type of size at Jo-Anns. They sell it to use for making cushions and such. My local quilting/yarn store sells needles and other things for needle felting as well.

I also wanted to mention the aug/sept issue of Living Crafts mag has a big list of where to get wool and felting supplies in the back.
