Sage hair dye safe during pregnancy?

I've been using henna/indigo/cassia for a couple of years now to dye my hair and am thinking about using a strong sage rinse instead for a change of pace, less stinky smell, and less time involved. Unfortunately, the sage is an emmenogogue, so I'm wondering if it can harm my pregnancy if I'm leaving it on my hair/scalp for 5 or 10 minutes at a time (which I'd have to repeat daily for a a week or two to get the desired color). Does anyone else know anything about this? Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about it. Emmenagogue is not the same as something which might cause an abortion, neither are you going to absorb very much in comparison to if you drank a cup of sage tea. I'm not a herbalist, but I'm a clinical aromatherapist, and appreciate that people have concerns for a reason but when anyone ever asks me this kind of question i aways try to frame a commonsense answer: if it were as easy as that to terminate a pregnancy, that's what people would do instead of going to a clinic KWIM?

I don't know what an emmenogogue is, but if I'm remembering correctly... which it's been 4 plus years since I did my research ... but I'm thinking that sage can/is/was used to decrease milk supply. If I'm right then you probably wouldn't want to use once you were breastfeeding.

don't 'know' this site, so don't know how accurate they are but... they are saying sage will decrease supply and also gives a warning not to use internally if pregnant....
