Pediatrician question - Page 2

I got a list of peds from my MW that other HB mamas has used and liked. I tried on off that list. All I got was "So that's why I've never seen her before" on my first appointment.

I don't go to the WBVs either (and I don't vax). I only took her in for the initial checkup to get a second opinion on my MW's checkup. I'm glad I saw both checkups because they both looked at totally different things. The MW focused more on heart, breathing, feeling for organs, etc. The ped focused on checking the mouth, eyes and ears.

Mine didn't care. She actually thought it was cool that we had a HB and wanted to know more about it.

The pediatrician wont see the baby if I have a homebirth. I found a family doctor that had homebirths herself. I was very surprised that he didnt support me because he was on the list my mw gave me of "homebirth friendly drs."

Ours don't even bat an eye. Homebirth midwifery was just recently made legal in this state, so they do meet a few homebirth babies. You can tell it's a little unusual to them, but they certainly have never said anything negative to me.

Mine didn't care. I think they said "Oh, that's why we don't have any records for him". Then the photocopied the newborn exam record I had brought with me, and that was the end of it.
