Doctors in S. NH?

I am looking for a new doctor for my 1yr old girl. I am looking for a doctor who is respectful of my choices in having a home birth, not to vacinate or over medicate and also is willing to work with me and my naturopath to find more natural cures.

I currently have a doctor, but I was not happy when I called about mucus coming from my daughters eyes because of her cold and they immediately prescribed antibiotics, sight unseen. My naturopath was able to give me many natural suggestions to help clear it up without antibiotics.

I live in the greater Plaistow area and am willing to travel both in NH and MA. I am currently driving an hour to her doctor in Concord. (I had heard they were good, but unfortunately we don't see eye to eye)

Any suggestions?

Why don't you just stick with the ND as the person that primarily sees your DC. My 2 children 4 & 2 have never seen an allopathic doctor. If you aren't vaccinating, there is really no reason to see anyone else other than your ND, unless there is an emergency that requires a physician or emergency room visit. Just a thought. Good luck in your search.

Dr. Oteri at Willowbend in Bedford is VERY friendly to natural remedies, no vax, etc.

I guess I would kind of like to have a regular doctor as well as the naturopath, just in case of an emergency. I there was something wrong I would hate to have to go to the emergency room everytime.

I just thought there might be doctors out there willing to work as a team with me instead of this feeling of them against me & my preferences.

Actually I know of Happy & Healthy and I was hoping to hear of some other places as well. I have a 15yrs old neice who went there and they STRONGLY suggested she get the HPV vaccine, I expressed my concerns and they poo poo'd them. They acted like I didn't know what I was talking about or thinking. I ended up caving in and got her the first of three shots. About one week later, they called me to cancel her other schedualed shots. Their reasoning was that the CDC was having a meeting on this vaccine and they had decided to suspend giving it until the results were found.

Needless to say I was very angry at myself for caving into their encouragment, but even more angry that they told me it was completely harmless and all the research so far to the negative side was unfounded. It seemed they changed their mind suddenly and were adamant the week before that she be given the shot.

Also the RN mentioned by the someone else, I have had dealings with. She told me to forgo having children to benefit my neice, who had just moved in with us. She told me it would not be fair to have another child in the house when she had just moved in. Well, as far as I was concerned, I had given up enough to have my neice move in, I wasn't giving up having my own child too. Well two years later, the neice has moved out and my little 1yrs old is still here I'm happy I had her when I did That RN also seemed medication happy, prescribing many things for my neice, but never solving the problems.

Dr. Trombley did seem very nice though and I have been considering going to her only.

i dont know who was there 2 years ago (or when you went there) but the nurse that has dealt w/ my son (we've been to Happy & Healthy 3x thus far and only for the last few months) was very nonjudgmental about the fact that we dont vax at all..and that my son is not used to being around drs' (other than our chiro.) so took some time to warm up to her (they couldnt get height/weight the first visit) and she was very patient w/ him. The 2nd time he saw her (same nurse) he allowed her to check his height/weight, etc. etc. He even allowed her to take his blood pressure.

i cant say enough great things about Dr. Tombley. I just cant.

Im sorry you had a bad experience. Maybe Dr. Tombley's patients are treated differently, i dont know.

They also have a Naturopath in the office now.

eta (after reading your thread more carefully).

Dr. Trombley suspected RSV for my son about a month or so ago and did prescribe an antbx. for him "to be used at my discretion" (her words). I did not fill it (it was for the beginning of an ear infection but we spoke about willow/garlic oil and she knew i was going to try that first..which did work). She prescribed b/c she didnt want me to have to come back.

She was very happy that i was still nursing my 2.9 year old and that he was nursing more now (since i am very very prego and he wasnt nursing alot for several months b/c i have no milk).

Most of the things she has spoken to me about involve alternative medicine. I was recommended to her office by our chiropractor (if you ever want an awesome chiro. there is one that is great w/ kids and pregnant women right across the street from H&H). Dr. Trombley also has said she will coordinate w/ teh naturopath if necessary.

She knows we are planning a home birth and that we cosleep for YEARS! lol!

I think you are in a town 5 minutes from me. PM me sometime!
