I'm going to go crazy. Seriously, all I can think about for the last 2 weeks is cheese.
It all started because I happened to notice that one of the grocery stores had my favorite cheese.

I want pizza and calzones and lasagna. I'm with you. Though I'm going to go to Whole Foods tomorrow, and see if they have the Water Buffalo mozarella that I heard about here, and have since researched. They say alot of people who can't handly regular dairy can do the water buffalo. I guess I'll trial it on myself first, then DD and then DS (he's got the most severe intolerance). I REALLY want some mozarella.

What about if they can't even "do" goat dairy?
I'm going to go look at it. Thanks, Kathy.

ETA: I know I'm always whining about what I can't have on here. It's so hard to not eat stuff when it doesn't make me sick and doesn't effect my nursling, when it's "just" so ds1 doesn't have to deal with it in his house. I hope that makes sense and doesn't sound horribly selfish.

oh I miss cheese. I miss pizza, calzones, bruschetta (I know you can have that without cheese but we're not having wheat either and this just made me think about it lol), grated parm, chicken parm, rattlesnake pasta, ok I'm going to stop.
I haven't had any cheese since February. It was difficult in the beginning but it's not so bad now. Sure I'd love to have some stuff, comfort food but it affects my nursling so I refrain. It's still tough though. Stay strong!

Last time I had cheese I almost fell off my dinosaur....

I think it was March of '07. I was daydreaming about lasagna today. The worst one for me has been no pesto. Summer used to mean huge bowls of pasta with my own home grown tomatoes and basil pesto from my garden. No wheat, nuts or cheese makes pesto into a salad. :

I have been thinking about whether I will resume eating things DS can't have once he weans. On one hand I think I will feel better doing it along with him. On the other hand, I don't know how comfortable I will be conceiving another child with my body in its current state of depletion.

I think that's probably the one thing I'm grateful for in all of this- I have never had the pleasure of trying pesto, so I don't know what I'm missing there.

I've never had pesto either, but I still miss plenty of other things. The water buffalo cheese said it was different than other cheeses. It made me salivate reading about it. I love (or should I say USED TO love) fresh-from-the-garden tomatoes, fresh mozarella, and fresh basil. Oy. I think I need a snack! Mmmm. Rice cakes. So satisfying....

I just ate my first fermented dill pickle. :
We're having Greek lemon roasted potatoes tonight. I wanted to make ricotta-stuffed meatloaf but.. no cheese and I had soy yesterday.

Me too. Well, it hasn't been as long as you... I think I had cheese around January or February of this year. Surprisingly, I am now totally over the cravings, which is weird because cheese was seriously my favorite food in the whole wide world. Now don't get me wrong- I occasionally crave pizza, but it's usually because I don't feel like making dinner and pizza is just so damn easy.

Pesto on the other hand.... : I would love to get pesto back. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm... pesto.
