sweet potatoe vs. potatoe

so i'm starting the ted diet today and thought my husband had got me sweet potatoes last night but by accident got regular potatoes.... can use these instead?? or is there a reason it's suppose to be sweet? thanks!

No, you shouldn't use them. White potatoes are part of the nightshade family and bother a lot of people.

The two charts I use the most are: calgary food families and now that I've found the joneja chart, that one too.

Solanaceae is the nightshade family.
Convolvulaceae is the family to which sweet potatoes belong so it's most closely related to such plants as morning glory and bindweed.
