Can someone who has BTDT help elucidate the process? FL is super duper easy, but I'm hoping to move to Jersey next fall and want to be well-prepared.

I understand I have to prepare a statement. Does anyone have sample verbiage?

Do you get hassled like in NY?

Thanks!

You might want to post in the tribal area.

I used to live in NJ and never had a problem. I wrote a very simple statement that included wording from the law. Said something like "I certify that the process of vaccination is against my and my child's religious beliefs". There really wasn't much to mine. I'll try to look it up on my old computer and post here tomorrow. It really was simple. The nurse asked me for the vaccination record and I just handed her my form.

Hey. I finally got around to finding my old exemption letters. Here is what I used:

Statement of Religious Objection to Immunization

In accordance with NJ State Statute 26:1A-9.1 1974, and Section 8:57-4.1 to 8:57-4.19 2000, I hereby certify that the administration of vaccine and other immunizing agents to my child, [child's name], is contrary to both [child's] and my personal Religious beliefs, held either individually or jointly with others, and I therefore request that my child be exempted from the school immunization requirements of the NJ State Statute 26:1A-9.1 1974, and Section 8:57-4.1 to 8:57-4.19 2000.

That was it. I figured if they asked for more info. I could give it to them then, but they didn't. Good luck.

my sister lives in NJ. she did a simple form, stating that vaccines were contrary to her religious beliefs. her doc. was pretty cool, he said, "I could tell you about how good vaccines are all day long, but if ya dont believe in 'em, ya don't believe in 'em"

but every dr. is diff. some might be bullies while others are pretty cool
