So who wore their birth necklace? Pics?

Here's me in active labour, about 6cm, walking around the garden with my necklace on. My doula calls it my birth warrior picture.

Here's another right after DS was born. I think the necklace really did help encourage me and gave me strength. I will cherish it always.

I did! I actually had dh take a picture of me wearing my necklace while I was in labor because I hadn't taken any yet with it on. I wore it in the pool too while I was in transition. I took it off though because I was on hands and knees and I didn't want it to get more wet than it already was. I'll save it if we have a 3rd and wear it again. (I don't think I feel comfortable sharing pics though)

No worries about sharing pics, I was just curious if anyone else had time or remembered to put it on. My midwife thought it was a great idea.

lol, we were in such a rush to get ready for the hospital (at the last minute since it was unexpected) and I wasn't even thinking about it. I was in so much pain that there wasn't much I could think about! I guess the birthing necklace was really the last thing on my mind.

I wore mine! I had friends from all over the world send me a bead along with family. Then my friend sent me a string of purple freshwater pearls which I put between the beads. The necklace helped SO much and I could feel their energy with me. I guess it helped, too, cause I had contractions off and on all day and when my water broke, it was less than 45 minutes til she was out.

I am so sad. I waited too long to request my beads from friends and family. And while I got a few from important people I did not get the others and really did not have enough to string before I ent into labor a week early. I meant to put the ones I had in a medicine bag and wear that around my neck but was a bit distracted with the contractions. I did think to put on a crystal and amethyst that my dad bought me when I was young so at least I had on something special when she was born. I also thought I would save the beads and make her a birthing necklace someday.

I had DH get mine when he packed my bag, but when things got intense, they got that way really, really fast and I didn't have time to think about it. When I went to dress baby the next morning and saw my beads, I was bummed that I hadn't worn them .

i forgot to wear mine during labor...it was the middle of the night...but i do have it hanging on the wall above the changing table so i get to look at it all of the time.

I wore mine for at least 30 hours! I got very good use out of that necklace!!

the DDC beads are on my left side starting with the felted wool bead (love it!), and the other side are beads from friends and family from my blessingway.

I still wear it for some time every day and my baby loves to fondle it while nursing.

I forgot to wear mine, too! But I hung it next to my side of the bed and I look at it all the time.

Good idea to use it as a nursing necklace, I hadn't thought of that and was looking for an excuse to wear it again.

i wouldn't have had time to get it on unless it was already on! my little guy came pretty fast.
that is SUCH a cool idea though. i wish i had known about it so i could've done that.

I wore mine! I put it on at 7am at 5cm and gave birth at 10:33am. I like to think that it was the necklace that helped me get from 5cm to baby in 3 and a half hours...here's a pic of right after the birth

I think the necklace helped me progress quickly too! I put it on when the contractions were still irregular and as soon as I did, they started to get much more intense and regular. When the MW came to check me an hour later I was already 5cm and was fully dilated just over two hours later. I only had three hours of active labour and one of pushing. Yay for birth necklaces! :
