Help with scheduling for brothers baby

My brother has a new baby. Im really proud of them, they are nursing exclusively and trying to provider her with a more natural environment (co-sleeping, baby wearing etc).

He called today because he hasnt had time to do the research on vaccinations. He wants to do a little more research and asked me if I were to allow one vax which would it be. I wasnt able to answer because my last two babies arent vaxed and the one before that was selectively/delayed vaxed but at that time, there were far fewer vaccinations.

He agreed he needed to do more research and is telling the dr. NO vaccines until he can figure this out. I warned him what will happen (bullying, scare tactics, threatening, even refusing to see them).. but that this is something he needs to know now, not later. HE pays the dr. the dr. doesnt dictate to him what needs to happein with his baby.

Anyway, I gave him a few links to check out and Ill send them this forum as well but my question is: does anyone have a schedule that follows the time guidelines between shots if he decides to vaccinate in a schedule that does just one or two shots at a time, not SIX! When I did mine, no one had one and it took me a week to figure something out. (after they gave him the wrong vax twice - blaming it on me for not doing it on THEIR schedule even though I brought it in every time and said hes getting HIB ONLY, NOT dtap AGAIN, it was still my fault.. anyway, we stopped all shots at that time).

Once he starts doing research, it will be a LONG process for him lol. There is so much information out there. I dont want him to think 'man, this is too much, Ill just let them do it" ya know?

Thanks for any help, you guys were really helpful for me when I started the research for Benjamin 6 years ago

I advise taking a look at Dr Sears' book. HE has two schedules in there. One that includes all the vaccines but spread out (for instance, MMR at 3). His book also includes a schedule with a reduced number of vaccines.

Also check the Catch Up Schedule for information. For instance, if you don't do HiB early, if you do it past 14 months, only one shot is needed. (double check that.. maybe it's 15 months). This holds true for a few others.... after a certain age, the required number is reduced.

Also, some people just do the core shots and not the future boosters.

I agree that he should read a book but why the Sears book which recommends vaccines and yet, the doctor does not vaccinate his own kids (according to a discussion for LLL)?

If your brother vaccinates just to please the doctor and the child has a life long vaccine reaction, how will he feel?

Tell him to put off vaccines until his is positively sure about which if any vaccine he want to inject into his child. Otherwise, keep putting it off. And if the ped gets too hard on them, skip WBV, that's what we did.

The book I would recommend is from Aviva Jill Romm - Vaccines: A thoughtful parents guide.
