Hey mamas!

EDD: 6/7/09, but have gone 2-4 wks 'late' last 2 times.

Other children and their ages: ages 5, 3, 15 months

Hometown/state/province: AZ

Occupation (SAHM or work outside the home): SAHM (some school)

Birth plans: UC. 1st two birth were c/s, 3rd birth was a VBA2C, this time I want to be left alone!

Thoughts about this pregnancy: It wasn't expected and was hard emotionally until about 2 wks ago. I've gone back and forth on the UC thing as well, but know that's the way I really want it. I am very happy to be pregnant now and every time my baby bumps me, I smile!

Introduction -- Take 2~

Oops, I posted this on another thread, but this one makes more sense, so....

Hi everyone,

Just want to introduce myself.... I'm Johanna from Canada! I'm due June 23rd for my first baby....and it's a boy!!! So far, he seems to be healthy -- even more exciting!

I've been enjoying nausea, leg cramps, backaches, and all that other fun pregnancy stuff! I have PCOS and fibroids, so I didn't think I would get/stay pregnant, especially at 37. So far, so good, and I want to spread the word to others with PCOS, in particular.

I really look forward to learning and sharing especially with you ladies due in June!! I've seen a few posts that peak my interests and that I plan to reply to very soon.

I'm starting week 22 tomorrow! Woohooo!!

Well, I'm off to bed.

Johanna

EDD: June 17th with boy/girl surrogate twins

Other children and their ages: I have an 8 yr old, a 13 yr old, and a 17 yr old at home. I delivered a baby almost 2 years ago for the family I am carrying for now.

Hometown/state/province: I live in Oregon.

Occupation (SAHM or work outside the home): I am a non-practicing homebirth midwife (my kids needed me to be home more than I could as a single mama, I'll go back to midwifery when they are older) and I currently work as a legal assistant to an adoption and ART lawyer.

Birth plans: I will be birthing in the hospital with an OB I have immense respect for.

Thoughts about this pregnancy: I'm thrilled to be carrying twins for my wonderful intended parents, and making their son a big brother!

Name: Kristen

EDD:6/23/09

Other children and their ages:Nate & Alex (baby is due the day after their 2nd bday)

Hometown/state/province: Omaha, NE

Occupation (SAHM or work outside the home): PT guidance Counselor at Elem. School. Will return FT SAHM when baby is born

Birth plans:Unmedicated VBAC with a CNM at a hospital

Thoughts about this pregnancy:
I had a m/c about 4 months before getting PG again. I had a lot of early bleeding. It is only since our big u/s a few weeks ago that I have really started to 'believe' I will be bringing home a baby in a few months! Since then we have gotten much more excited!! This baby was a surprise after trying for over a year (and using fertility drugs) to have the twins. We were planning to start trying but not for several more months which also made it all seem a bit unreal. It was such a blessing to get our "surprise" baby.

EDD: June 24th (girl)

Other children and their ages: I have a 12 year old boy

Hometown/state: I live in Oregon.

Occupation: Social and behavioral research

Birth plans: At home

Thoughts about this pregnancy: Very excited! We wanted a girl so badly and did all the "tricks" to supposedly get one. I was so nervous about whether or not it worked (even though I would have loved a boy too) that I started bawling when the US tech told us what we were having. I am not usually a crier, but you know... hormones and stuff. I have been haunting this forum for many months and at first didn't join because of superstitious feelings about jinxing things and then didn't join out of laziness... but here I finally am as a contributor.

Other children and their ages: dd, 2/2007

Name: Amy

EDD: 6/12

Other children and their ages: Chase is 9 1/2 and Aidan is 5 1/2, both boys

Hometown/state/province: Naples, FL

Occupation (SAHM or work outside the home): SAHM, former school teacher now homeschooling! I'm also a certified childbirth educator (not currently teaching though, got certified more as a "hobby" but maybe I'll teach when my kids are older)

Birth plans: I am hoping to have a beautiful birth with a midwife in a free standing birth center, as I did with the first two. 2nd baby was a water birth and I'd love to do that again. Unfortunately, I'm have some GD issues which might rule out all of the above for me. Hopefully I will know where I stand in the next few days. I'm trying not to panic!

Thoughts about this pregnancy: We're having a girl after our two boys. I thought for sure it was a boy even though I really wanted a girl. I sobbed at the ultrasound; I was so shocked and happy! I love my boys so much but I am really looking forward to experiencing the mother/daughter dynamics!

I guess I could fill this out!

Name: Martina

EDD: June 18th

Other children and their ages: Odin, 2!

Hometown/state/province: Fairburn, Georgia

Occupation (SAHM or work outside the home): SAHM

Birth plans: Finally decided on UC! So excited. :

Thoughts about this pregnancy: I'm really excited about everything. This is my first planned pregnancy (oops!) out of three pregnancies total, so it's kind of different, haha. I feel like I have a lot more control over things and like people are less inclined to treat me like an idiot, hooray. The only thing I am not looking forward to is being pregnant during June in Georgia. I do not handle heat very well!

I'm realllllly late to the game!

Name: Cynthia

EDD: 6/21/09

Other children and their ages: Em (boy), 6/07

Hometown/state/province: CT

Occupation (SAHM or work outside the home): SAHM now, Librarian by profession.

Birth plans: I'm very much wanting a NCB! Also, I'd rather hide from the Dr. at 42 weeks than ever be induced again . I've been having some problems with ctx, so at this point I just want to make it to full term as naturally as possible. Oh, and I'm delivering at a WHO Baby Friendly Hospital. I LOVED the support there with my son and am totally comfortable going back.

Thoughts about this pregnancy: This was quite the surprise baby, esp. after the years it took to conceive my son. It took a good chuck of the pg to convince me I really was going to be bringing a baby home in June. Now, I am really excited and looking forward to a healthy squishy baby.

Hi Everyone! I know I am late to join the group but I look forward to sharing with all of you for the few weeks that are left! Yay!

Name: Sarah

Other children and their ages: Felix, 3 years old

Hometown/state/province: From Vermont originally but live just outside of Paris, France now

Occupation (SAHM or work outside the home): I teach English as a Foreign Language in an elementary school

Birth plans: Hoping to go all natural (and maybe even enjoy it!) with my midwife in a clinic.

Thoughts about this pregnancy: Very different pregnancy that my first but that makes it all the more interesting. Definitely feeling an intense love and attachment to this baby already...

I never did this either, so I'm also not on the front page! Funny since my EDD is past now

Name: Alicia

EDD: was June 7th, a bit past due now

Other children and their ages: this is the first!

Hometown/state/province: Cambridge, Massachusetts

Occupation (SAHM or work outside the home): Scientist/engineer

Birth plans: At a hospital, but a pretty hippie crunchy one, so that's good. Trying for unmedicated, hoping now to avoid induction as well.

Thoughts about this pregnancy: *way* easier than I expected, was able to bike and play frisbee and run throughout, which was a surprise. A little worried about having a girl (I'm very not girly!) but will be happy with just a healthy baby!
