Sadly, YES! I discovered this after going out and buying what I thought was suedecloth, but turned out to be microsuede. The stuff I bought was stretchy and when it got wet, it stayed sopping wet. No good for stay-dry inners...Suedecloth is supposed to be thin, but not stretchy and wicks moisture away from the skin. I've yet to find any locally though!
My local Joann's has a sign that says suedecloth, but the stuff under the sign I think is something else. Its not soft like I hear it should be? Was hoping to make a couple experimental models before ordering a bunch of stuff online...

from kck one yahoo group-
At Joanns or walmart- it is called alova suede.
at Hancock- butter suede.
I have felt both of these as well as the suede cloth from the diaper making sites, they are pretty much the same. the butter suede is a tiny bit softer, more fluffy but they have the same texture, stretch, feel to them.

What you want is called alova suede. micro suede will stay wet. Alova is still a knit so it might be a tad stretchy, but not too much. We get ours from www.wahmsupply.com. They don't have a HUGE selection, but it's the best price we found for the quality. I tried some at walmart and it's definitely different and the stuff at walmart is BAD quality *hard to sew with too*. Hope this helps!
