Help my bald Waldorf doll get hair!

I've had a hairless Waldorf doll on my sewing desk for months now! I tried to crochet a cap, but I can't crochet to save my life. Does anyone know how to just sew yarn to a doll's head? Or perhaps know where I can find some really good crochet wig instructions? I'm really at a loss here.

Thank you so much!

I believe Joy's sells a wig making booklet for about $6

Joy's also sells the wigs ready made...it assumes a certain head dimension though. You'd want to check on the measurements of the head you're using. If you've used a Dancing Rain pattern...her 16" heads are equal to the 20" doll wigs -- Joy's doesn't have those, so you'd have to order a 20" cap from Wier and hook the hair in yourself (which is the fun part anyway!!)

FWIW...I ordered one of the curly caps from Joy's just to see what it looked like...it's such a task for me to crochet too...her's are knit! So I found a free preemie cap pattern online that I'm going to try and see if that will do the trick! Knitting I can do. Crocheting is not my friend--I've done caps for two dolls now and they both turned out great but were the most painful part of the whole process. I can use the bought cap on a doll for Christmas-- so I learned something and saved myself several hours of frustrating crocheting. Win win!
