Let's brag on ourselves!

Thread Starter
I thought it would be fun to start a thread where we bragged on our bodies and what they can do for us. Brag away! Don't be shy! You can brag on something you have accomplished lately, or just brag on a body part if you want to.

Two rules:
Rule 1: Your self-compliment has to have no strings attached. No sneaking negative comments into your compliment! For instance: this is OK: "I ran a mile today and I was so proud of myself! I felt really strong!" but this is not OK: "I ran a mile today! Maybe the running will help me get rid of these nasty saddlebags."
Rule 2: you are not allowed to let others' accomplishments prevent you from being proud of your own accomplishments. For instance, if you just did five real pushups and you are really proud of yourself, by all means post and be proud, even though someone else upthread just posted that they did fifty.

Okay, I'll start. I went hiking with friends last weekend. I was told that the hike would be a hilly 1 1/4 miles, which didn't sound like a big deal to me. Well, turns out that "hilly" meant "like climbing a staircase," and 1 1/4 miles was just one way, and then we had to turn around and come back! But I did it! And I stayed with the pack, and didn't fall behind, and oh, did I mention that I had my very heavy toddler on my back?! I felt like Superwoman. And I wasn't even all that sore the next day.

Okay, your turn!

I've lost 30 pounds since May. I do at least 30 minutes of exercise a day and usually more. I can play In the Groove on level 8. I can do a plank for 100 seconds. I can do side planks. I can sit on the floor and play with my kids and then leap quickly to my feet. I have nice firm breasts and a decent midsection. And I have a blog with at least a few pictures.
I've read about studies that show that women and girls have a really hard time complimenting their bodies when asked. So I was seeing if I could do it.

I walked 6 out of 7 days this week for at least half an hour at a brisk pace with hills. Thursday, my husband and kids turned around and headed home. I kept on going and went up a huge hill going back instead of going the easy way.

I like your blog, Mandy. There's a lot of really boring fitness blogs out there. Yours was actually interesting.

1- I worked out for over 2 hours today at the gym. And I felt good, worked hard but didn't get my HR too high. I burned 930 calories.

2- I have been so dedicated about exercising 5-6 days a week since Jan. Last night, a personal trainer at teh gym came up to me and asked my name, because she "sees me in there all of the time"

3- By tracking my food intake over the last 9 months, I have found ways to cut 200-600 calories a day out of my diet without feeling deprived or missing out on anything

This is a fantastic idea for a thread! Thanks for starting it.

1. I ran 7 miles today. 1 miles farther than my dh.

2. I am getting really good at Zumba. I love that my curves work to my advantage in that class. Dude, I can shake some booty.

1. Have lost 50lbs since January (which you may have seen in my thread)

2. I can see so much definition that i never knew was there! I'm starting to actually see my abs. My biceps and legs look great.

3. I'm fitting into a size 14 for the 1st time since maybe 6th grade

4. Yesterday someone at the gym passed by and said that I didn't even look like the same person anymore

Keep up the good work ladies!

I'm running my first marathon in less than two weeks. I ran 12 miles yesterday and it was really easy.

I've been really on track with my exercise lately. I love going for my power walks and using free weights.

I've been fitting in a bit of yoga almost everyday.

Today I held tree-pose for 55 seconds!

I've been feeling really good in my body the past few days

Instead of dreading exercise, I've been craving it!

I've walked 3 miles a day, every day for 2 weeks. Before that, i was walking but not as hard, long or as consistant.

I have been sugar free since the day after Thanksgiving last year.

WOOHOO EVERYONE!!! This thread makes me happy! I have a hard time finding people to share my successes with. Thanks for giving me a place to brag!

I'm so proud of myself. My goal is to just be a really strong athlete. This summer I did my first lead climb and got up to leading a 5.9 sport climb. I started trail running in spring only being able to walk/jog 2-3 miles. Yesterday I RAN 7 miles including lots of hills. I love that I can officially call myself a climber and trail runner! I hiked to the top of the highest mountain in Colorado (Mt. Elbert 14,440ft) this summer as well! I can actually say that I love my body for the first time in my life. DH was pointing out all of the muscles in my legs yesterday. : This winter I am going to learn how to backcountry (telemark) ski!
