Yay got some money back from my RE. A check for $58 that said refund. I have no clue what the refund is for since I paid OOP for everything, but nevertheless I have $58 found money.

So like a good little girl, I will deposit the check and immediately (well when it clears) put that amount towards my cc (which is what I used to pay for my treatments).

Day 17: I spent today! It was some good spending though!!!:

I needed a hairdryer and planned to get one in November, but when I saw a coupon for a hairdryer that would get me a hair straigtener for free I decided to get it today! Then I bought my iron supplements and a bubble tea and some gum.

$17 Hairdryer and FREE flat iron for my hair
$4 bubble tea
$2 gum
$21 Floradix iron supplement (the pills, not the liquid)

I'd taken $60 cash from the machine and thought I'd have enough for my friends birthday gift today. I didn't b/c I chose to buy the supplements instead. I can get his gift next week since his birthday isn't until the 29th and I really felt I needed my Floradix.

I find lately that I don’t even want to spend, and I put it off a lot which is actually a good things. A lot of times I think I need something and then forget about it – I guess I didn’t really need it! But it does mean that when all the actual needs pile up I end up spending a lot of money – like I did today. I just bought storage bins for our recycling, garbage bags, spoons and bibs for baby (didn’t find any socks to replace yesterdays *@#$(!@)#$), pants for me that were 50% off (I only have one pair of jeans that fit me since I had the baby), stockpiled natural laundry soap that was on sale, and disposable diapers that were $10 off. I saved 36.81 for waiting until most of the stuff was on sale though – it still hurts lol. I am putting it here even though most of it was necessary, because we really don’t have that much money to spend this month (we will be way over our monthly budget because our insurance comes out this month)

01.
02. $52.91 on a sleep sac and baby proofing supplies
03. $15.58 on 3 springform pans
04.
05.

15. $4 Kitchen supplies

: = No-drive day

1 Oct: : Went $5.00 over on grocery limit. Spent $150.00 to have heating system serviced.
2 Oct: :
3rd $25.00 at Fred Meyer for dessert auction ingredients, $40.00 in bulk dog food, $9.00 to buy schtuff to wrap and display the desserts. Expensive but necessary spending today. :
4th :
5th $15.00 to church
6th Errand to library - 70 cents on photocopies. DH just got a huge bonus at work today.:
7th : Perfume. $20.00. Priceless. I let DH talk me into that one, and usually he's the tightwad around here. Also, $7.50 for our weekly lunch date. We save a $1.25 when I bring thermoses full of iced water and we forego the Sprite. That saves $5.00 per month, $60.00 per year.
8th : $118.00 on groceries plus $8.00 at local produce farm. I'm trying to keep groceries under $120.00.
9th $14.78 light bulbs, $7.30 on butt paste, and WE FINALLY PAID OFF THE $4000.00 LANDSCAPING DEBT!!! : On a more prosaic note, the clerk at the drug store, of all people, volunteered a cheaper alternative to butt paste--simply combine zinc oxide with a little corn starch. But DD had of course opened the package so I had to buy it : . . . this time.
10th $22.00 on bread pans, household cleaners; $15.00 on second-hand long-sleeved shirts for DD.
11th $10.00 on OTC med for DD. Also, I'd like to add that for my first time ( I learned a new frugality skill by baking bread today--two yummy loaves of whole wheat peasant bread. :
12th $5.00 to church collection.
13th: Stayed home and outta trouble.
14th DD's doctor appt $20.00, weekly lunch date w/ DH = $8.00, and prescription for DD = $10.00
15th I allowed myself to go over-budget on groceries today. A whopping $216.00!! What can I say? I'm recession-proofing!
16th I'll go ahead and give a : for today. $12.00 on stuff for an upcoming weekend trip. I could have baked something instead of granola bars. I bought a pound of coffee b/c I feel bad for consuming so much of MIL's. I bought disposable baby wipes. Honestly, I could have found alternatives to all of the aforementioned. So ":" describes it.
17th $25.00 G-Diapers, $35.00 gas
18th Needed pants in which to hang out, work out, and lounge around in. Found a pair at thrift store for $3.00.

Day 18: I earned $60 babysitting for my fave little boys! : I pretty much spent the same amount when I got home!

I put another $60 on my Mastercard just now b/c I really, really want to get it down to a much lower level and get have a lower min payment even though I plan to pay more then the min payment each month.

So now I have $60 from tonight and $15 from the other day as cash in my pocket. My goal is to make that last until the 29th. I need to buy my friends birthday gift and pay for our dinner and movie that night. I should have enough if I keep on not spending! I don't quite have enough in the bank to cover my share of rent or bus pass anymore, but I know for sure I'll be getting more then enough on my next check on the 30th!

It's time for me to rejoin the no spend challenge. I completely fell off the wagon and have been spending money ridiculously over the last few weeks. I've decided (once again!) that I just CAN'T use my credit card anymore. I like to think that I can just use it and then pay it off every month, but I just can't, because I go buck wild with it. It makes me completely lose all awareness of how much money I'm really spending a month. Starting tomorrow, I'm going back to my responsible, no spending ways I know I can do it, and posting to this thread is a HUGE help to me. My goals for the rest of the month are as follows:

No spend days 8/13 remaining days
Groceries--$50 more for the rest of the month

I am planning to go see some music, so I will be buying tickets for those shows, but I'm going to try to go back to my 2 drink limit that I had given myself over the last few months I didn't do so great last weekend on that note, and I forgot to close my tab last Saturday (a tab that I shouldn't have even opened in the first place!) I'm going to be a responsible person from now on

Honeybee when are you using your CC? I try and leave it at home unless I know that I'll be making a big purchase and can't use cash or don't have any cash to use. I'm not a bog on-lone shopper so it's safe at home!

I had been using it for everything. I have the REI Visa, so I get credit toward my dividend when I use it. But thinking about how much more I spend when I'm using it, I don't think it's worth it. And that's the credit card I forgot to close the tab on, so I don't even have it right now because it's at a place an hour away. Seems like it would be a good time to cancel it
