I was just about to spend some money....on bills! I decided that I'll wait for my next check on Thursday and start my new monthly budget plan. My goal is to make a new budget based on my paydays (every other Thursday) since it's a different amount each pay day. I'm going to divide up my bills in 1/2 and pay the ones that are due in the first week with the check I get at the end of the month along with my rent and bus pass and the bills that come later on paid with my 2nd check of the month.

I have just $30 left in cash and I have to use it for my friends birthday gift and a movie out. I'm topping up a gift card for HMV that I got for Christmas a year ago and making him some brownies.

Oh and I got my Visa bill today and it's about $250 less then it was last month and the min. payment has gone down!

So it was a no-spend day for me since I didn't buy anything frivolous (I checked the cart twice...all good-for-you food).

This thread is such an inspiration I have not bought anything this week (with the exception of ds' birthday present) It is not as hard as I thought to go without stopping for Coffee every morning.

Oct 20: Bought some boots that Tobias needed, and some Holiday Helper stuff to round out a package... but also made a stop at the corner store and spent $3.48 unncessarily. On a more positive note we paid for my DP's school application which is money well spent

Oct 24: Needed to get out of the house and had a craving for a drink at the corner store, ended up getting a hot drink too because I was so cold... total spent for DP and I $4.77
Oct 25: Did a bulk food grocery shop, we'll only need to stop at the Bulk Barn for flour and with that and a bit of produce each week that won't keep we'll be set for the next six weeks Also date night, spent a whopping $3.99 on snacks and just stayed in with each other

Oct 27: Bought a drink for me and a popsicle for my sick toddler... I'm hoping he's better soon.
Oct 28: Money hasn't actually been spent yet, so I'll update on that tomorrow, but we'll be doing our grocery shop at Bulk Barn tonight so I know there will be necessary spending

Okay so I have done horrible in posting here the last week. I am pretty happy with my spending this month with the exception of eating out. We have spent way to much and I had committed to only 5 times on the eating out challenge on DS.
For November I would like to greatly reduce our eating out, even if it means increasing our grocery bill a bit.
I started working again (eBay powerseller), and that has helped a bit with our expenses. And I think I have a new addiction, curriculum. But overall I am pleased with the exception of eating out.
And best of all I paid off a credit card today!!:

Day 30: Ooops! I started work and when my supervisor asked who wanted to go home and not get an attendance infraction I jumped at the chance! It was so automatic that I didn't even think to tell myself to STAY at work and earn money! I'm glad I left though b/c I was able to spend some non-rushed time looking for a much needed bra that fit well. I've been needing a new bra for a while now and thought my self esteem and body image would improve if I got one.

So today I spent: $52 on two nice and well fitting bras (they were 2 for 1)
$33 Fleece sleep pants (1 for me and 1 for a friend)
$2 hot chocolate mixes
$65 bus pass

I also got paid today and my roommate gave me rent money,so I I'll be paying off afew bills in the next day or so.

Just need a no-spend tomorrow and I meet my goal : I'm slightly under for spending but since this week has been so slow for work I'm going to to have to really cut back on my spending next month, plus I have two dentist appointments I've put them off once already, can't put them off any longer. But it looks like December's going to be a good month hopefully :
