Day: 26: $37 groceries
Day: 27

I was just about to spend some money....on bills! I decided that I'll wait for my next check on Thursday and start my new monthly budget plan. My goal is to make a new budget based on my paydays (every other Thursday) since it's a different amount each pay day. I'm going to divide up my bills in 1/2 and pay the ones that are due in the first week with the check I get at the end of the month along with my rent and bus pass and the bills that come later on paid with my 2nd check of the month.

I have just $30 left in cash and I have to use it for my friends birthday gift and a movie out. I'm topping up a gift card for HMV that I got for Christmas a year ago and making him some brownies.

Oh and I got my Visa bill today and it's about $250 less then it was last month and the min. payment has gone down!

Spent a lot of money today at Costco, but it was all on food and that is budgeted.

So it was a no-spend day for me since I didn't buy anything frivolous (I checked the cart twice...all good-for-you food).

Key
: No spending of any kind
: Budget spending
: Unnecessary/out of budget spending

Oct 1: (mostly paid bills to start the month, but I did get coffee/juice while DS and I were out that we didn't need... should've been prepared)
Oct 2: (bought Christmas present and office supplies at a great price and then a few groceries)
Oct 3: (not only no spend, but an unexpected government payment came in *yay*)
Oct 4: (I had to update this... I don't get no spend, we put $5.00 on our Tim Card for date night and bought donuts to have after our supper while we watched a movie )
Oct 5: (bought groceries to supplement what we had in our pantry and use some stuff up this week )
Oct 6: (bought apples on sale, plus paid heat and a cc payment and for my website domain name renewal)
Oct 7:
Oct 8:
Oct 9: (I went with no money and STILL spent money... $3.59 on gluten free animal crackers for DS who was melting down because I left his snack and drink at home)
Oct 10: (PayDay and pay bill day, did our big grocery shop as well :... paid some extra debt stuff too
Oct 11: (bought more office supplies... this has been a big month for me, my biggest ever so while I don't like to spend so much at the office supply store it's because of all of my sales which is definitely a great thing!)
Oct 12: (DP picked up few grocery items to complete the big shop that the other store didn't have)
Oct 13:
Oct 14:
Oct 15: (yet another $19.75 on postage supplies, plus an $11.00 stop at the thrift store... $9.00 picked me up a bag choc full of items for Holiday Helper and $2.00 picked me up used copies of "Our Bodies, Ourselves", "How to Talk so Kids will Listen, and Listen so Kids will Talk", and "Kids are Worth It"... totally worthwhile shopping trip
Oct 16:
Oct 17: (bought bulk brown rice pasta (our DS is gluten free so it's all we eat for pasta) $25.70, will last us a while )
Oct 18:
Oct 19: Bought the last few things (produce) that we'll need for our meals this week, we should be good to go for a while again now
Oct 20: Bought some boots that Tobias needed, and some Holiday Helper stuff to round out a package... but also made a stop at the corner store and spent $3.48 unncessarily. On a more positive note we paid for my DP's school application which is money well spent
Oct 21: $24.54 for Christmas presents
Oct 22:
Oct 23: $2.00 on Tim Hortons that I didn't really need (but really wanted )
Oct 24: Needed to get out of the house and had a craving for a drink at the corner store, ended up getting a hot drink too because I was so cold... total spent for DP and I $4.77
Oct 25: Did a bulk food grocery shop, we'll only need to stop at the Bulk Barn for flour and with that and a bit of produce each week that won't keep we'll be set for the next six weeks Also date night, spent a whopping $3.99 on snacks and just stayed in with each other
Oct 26:
Oct 27: Bought a drink for me and a popsicle for my sick toddler... I'm hoping he's better soon.
Oct 28: Money hasn't actually been spent yet, so I'll update on that tomorrow, but we'll be doing our grocery shop at Bulk Barn tonight so I know there will be necessary spending

I want chocolate.

I had to send my daughter's halloween pumpkin full of chocolate candy off to work with my husband this morning...otherwise I would have been visiting that pumpkin this afternoon. Lordy do I miss that pumpkin.

Going to cancel my tutoring for next month. I'll be sad to not get that extra cash but I think we can still get by without it and with the amount of cab trips it's not worth it. I feel guilty about cancelling but it's for a legitimate reason.

Cool! I've been doing this by myself but I like seeing it all laid out here.
Okay so I have done horrible in posting here the last week. I am pretty happy with my spending this month with the exception of eating out. We have spent way to much and I had committed to only 5 times on the eating out challenge on DS.
For November I would like to greatly reduce our eating out, even if it means increasing our grocery bill a bit.
I started working again (eBay powerseller), and that has helped a bit with our expenses. And I think I have a new addiction, curriculum. But overall I am pleased with the exception of eating out.
And best of all I paid off a credit card today!!:

Day 29: $25 on movie tickets for my friend and I (his birthday treat)
$6 on drinks at the movies (Tim Hortons Ice Caps)

Day 30: Ooops! I started work and when my supervisor asked who wanted to go home and not get an attendance infraction I jumped at the chance! It was so automatic that I didn't even think to tell myself to STAY at work and earn money! I'm glad I left though b/c I was able to spend some non-rushed time looking for a much needed bra that fit well. I've been needing a new bra for a while now and thought my self esteem and body image would improve if I got one.

So today I spent: $52 on two nice and well fitting bras (they were 2 for 1)
$33 Fleece sleep pants (1 for me and 1 for a friend)
$2 hot chocolate mixes
$65 bus pass

I also got paid today and my roommate gave me rent money,so I I'll be paying off afew bills in the next day or so.

Just need a no-spend tomorrow and I meet my goal : I'm slightly under for spending but since this week has been so slow for work I'm going to to have to really cut back on my spending next month, plus I have two dentist appointments I've put them off once already, can't put them off any longer.
