My DC is an absolute joy

I'll start.

Tonight nearly 4yo DS decided to put on a circus show with nearly 2 yo DD. He pulled kid chairs into our living room, where he welcomed DH and I with "Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome". Then he and DD had to sing a "long, long, long, long, long song." Well, DD doesn't know much longer than the itsy bitsy spider and Mister Jacob, so she was delegated to singing la la la la, while DS sang a canon song, which he didn't really know either, so it was just this made up thing about a canon in the dark forest. And then they had to dance and spin around. And then I said it was bath time, and so he said we had to say "thank you for the evening" and "farewell." Anyway, it doesn't sound like much in translation, but it really was so creative and charming and it just melted my heart with joy.

Great idea for a thread!

DS is 15 mo and is very good at figuring out how things work...although it's frustrating at times, I absolutely love being able to watch him figure out how the child locks work, how to turn off the stereo, etc. You can almost see his little brain processing information :

Awe, so cute! I love what comes from the minds of little children. They can be so creative and fun. My lo is only six months, and he is a joy as well - I can't wait until he gets to do fun things like your dc's!

Yesterday DS "helped" me to load the dishwasher:

I was loading the dryer yesterday and my 11 mo DS was next to me holding on to the dryer and squeeling. I dropped a sock and he squatted down, grapped it and put it into the dryer! :
I was so excited by what I saw. It was the moment he stopped being just a sweet, drooly, mushy baby and became this purposeful little boy.

My 5 month old is sleeping. Do I need to say more? Ok. He's sleeping without my breast in his mouth. Need more? Alright. He's sleeping without my breast in his mouth and without me even in the same room.

It's like a gift from the baby fairy.

I love these stories. My dd spends her whole day singing in her sweet, soft angelic voice. She knows all the words of hundreds of songs!
ds's eyes light up every time dd comes near him! she can make him laugh easier than anyone else in the family!

The great moments of parenting SO outweigh the tough ones!

There are so many sweet sweet things about my little guy that it's hard to pick one, but one of my favorites is the "family hug," where he puts one arm around my neck and one around DH's, and tries to squeeze the stuffing out of us. Usually accompanied by his fervent wish that we should "all stay together forever and ever and ever!" I can't stand it, he's so freakin' adorable.

The other day I had to run upstairs for a minute and I asked 21 mo DS to "keep the baby happy" while I was gone (the baby is VERY clingy). He said "Yes!" in his excited affirmative voice, and then, as I ran up the stairs, "Hanak (himself) read Yoyo (the baby) a book!" I answered: "You do that," and he affirmed "I do dat!"

This thread is just making me melt!

DS (16mo) said outside yesterday for the first time! This is also his 2nd word, after mama. So excited that he may finally be starting to talk!
