Toning after pregnancy?

What are your best tips for toning the postpartum stomach?

I lost the weight almost immediately. Had no separation of the muscles.

Now I'd like to start working on the looseness as well as making a dent in the flab that was there before getting pregnant.

I'd especially like baby-holding friendly exercises and tips.

You cannot spot reduce. If you have extra fat to loose you need to reduce your overall fat levels. The stomach after pregnancy can be tough because often it is also loose skin which short of surgery cannot be reduced - although often over time it will tighten up.

True, but the muscles can be stronger.

Really, all baby-friendly exercises'd be great, especially with pictures. I know how to workout without a baby, but have too many things to stick in the few naps she'll lay down/be worn for as it is.

i'd just do crunches (and all the variations) with the baby on my tummy or laying beside me. as for the fat, the best way to lose it is through diet.
