hynobirthing CD?

Does anyone know if I could possibly get a hynobirthing CD (like an audio class) for me and a friend to listen to on the way and home from our prenatal yoga class? We live a few blocks away from each other and will drive 25 min each way to yoga, so I thought since we were both interested in learning hynobirthing techniques/ideas, this would be a perfect time to listen and learn. Or am I dreaming?

My doula recommended I get the latest edition of Hypnobirthing so that I'd have the CD that came with it, but it's only two, 20-minute sessions, neither of which I'm in love with. (Several in the book I like much better.)

I'm sorry that doesn't help more, just wanted to pass along the CD info I DID have to save you the money/trouble!

Just so you know, its not recommended that you listen to them in the car, you can seriously get so relaxed that it distracts you!
But yeah, if you go buy the latest version of Hypnobirthing, The Mongan Method by Marie F. Mongan, it comes with a CD in the back that has the birth affirmations and the rainbow relaxation meditation exersize.
I usually listen to them before bed, they help me sleep SO well.

i highly recommend hypnobabies. but don't listen in the car!! they do have an affirmations cd that is good and included in the set and you can do that one in the car.

I have the Hypnobabies Homestudy course.

http://www.hypnobabies.com

You could order one set and split it. It comes with 6 cds as so. As the previous poster mentioned, only one can be used in the car.

Not sure about Hypnobirthing.

From the reviews and testmonials I've read, it seems that people do better with Hypnobabies than Hypnobirthing.

Yes, you should not listen to the techniques (i.e. the rainbow relaxation) in the car. You can listen to the birth affirmations in the car. I did so on my way to work every day for the last month or so of my pregnancy.

I'm for Hypnobabies...I'm also taking a Hypnobirthing course and I feel like I'm getting more out of Hypnobabies than the other. You can order the home study course and if you are of need, you can get it for like $80 from the website instead of the regular amount. You get a wonderful course with 6 CDs and 12 scripts that really guide you to learning self hypnosis and lots of moms on MDC have used it with great success. I agree that you can't listen to your scripts in the car or while you're doing anything that requires concentration like mowing the lawn (oh yeah, it's fall!!!). Best of luck to you!!!

i looked at the hypnobabies website but I only see the home study course for $140...should I look somewhere else online? It sounds like something that might also help me relax at night before bed, which I am having a problem doing...I need this. We can find something else to listen to in the car I am sure

Hmm...I'll look into it...I read that you could get the home study course used. You could go to yahoo.com and register to the group and ask around. I'm sure that there are some ladies who would be happy to lend you theirs or sell it to you for less money.

yeah, so DON'T meditate while driving.

Okay, I looked into it for a little bit and strange enough, I didn't find anything. Could you call Hypnobabies to see if there are any used home study courses? I thought that you could do that since they're trying to spread the word and keep it going about them. I do love the course and it's really nice. So I don't know what else to do except calling them directly (I belive they have a toll free number) and asking them about it. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance to you.

I looked on ebay and there are a few up. I guess I will bid on one of those.

You have to call them and there is often a waiting list for the used programs. You MUST call, don't email. I do totally think it's worth every cent.

ETA Be cafeful about Ebay programs. I've heard there are a lot of rip offs on there. The program is not actually Hypnobabies or it's missing CDs and they usually end up going for close to new prices.
