Mucus Plug & Bloody Show!!! 40wks 6days **UPDATE** Water broke too!

I'm 40wks 6days....and tonight am having discharge and bloody show. We have everything ready. Prepping bed now for homebirth. We should meet our baby soon!

I had an appt with my midwife today. She has a theory that for moms that have a good, consistent blood pressure, that there is sometimes a bump in blood pressure sometime about 24hrs before labor begins. Well I had a bump in my blood pressure and it was the highest it has been (though still not high at all). So it is interesting to have these other labor signs along with her prediction that labor may start in the next 24hrs.

I am almost completely effaced and 2cm. That all may not say much...but hte bloody show does!!!

Goodnight! Must get some sleep so I'm ready to birth my baby!!!

UPDATE: My water broke about an hour after I wrote my original post. Right as we were trying to get in bed to sleep after making up my bed in the various layers of sheets and shower curtains. Now I can't lay down because it hurts my lower back and lower belly too much. So I'm actually just up timing contractions now so I know when to call my midwife again. (I already called her to tell her my water broke.)

Really didn't think my water would break as one of the first signs since it only happens in 5-10% of women before labor actually starts. And I had been taking extra vitamin C and E specifically so my water wouldn't break before or at the beginning of labor. So much for that!

So contractions weren't happening really when my water broke. I had just had what I thought were BHs randomly. But then they were about 5-6mins apart for just a little bit. Now I think they might be getting to be about 3mins 45 seconds apart and lasting 45seconds. But thats only been the trend for the last few so far. Once things got going with my son, they went pretty fast so I have to make sure not to wait too too long to get the midwife here.

My baby will be here soon!

Yes...holding my little one now! Born Wed morning at 6:29am...so 6.5hrs after my water broke (7.5hrs after my original post in this thread)
