Contractions - under 5 mins but irregular? (water already broke)

My contractions are all under 5 mins but irregluar, meaning are happening sometimes every 3 mins, sometime very 4, and sometimes every 2. There isn't a perfect rhythm to them yet but they are all under 5 mins.

Also, the ones that are 2 mins apart aren't as strong as the ones that are 3 1/2 to almost 5 mins apart.

Thoughts?

Sometimes it happens that way. I hope you are holding your LO soon.

I just had my baby this morning, and this is exactly the pattern that my contractions stayed in all the way till the end. Most were 5-6 min apart with some less intense ones being closer to 2-3 min apart. The 5-6 min apart ones were INTENSE. Even in transition they never got that close together. It made me 2nd guess when to call the midwife because of it. She got here just 1/2 an hour before baby came.

Best wishes for a beautiful birth!!

Midwife wants me to call when under 5mins and lasting at leasat 45seconds. So do I call even if they are not regular, but are all under 5mins?

When things got going with my DS, it happened kind of fast. So I'm afraid to call her too soon or too late!

(She already knows my water has broken)

I had that pattern, plus they were less than 40 seconds long, when they checked me upon arrival at the hospital I was "9+." I wasn't sure I was really in labor!

How intense are the 5 min apart ones, and how far of a drive does your mw have? We called once the contractions started getting really intense and I was having beginning signs of transition. It's always so hard to decide when to call isn't it? Do you enjoy your mw being there for support or enjoy the privacy of just you and dh? I like the latter, so we always wait till we think birth is just around the corner before we call.

I'm saying a quick prayer for you to have a great, smooth labor and birth. Hopefully you'll be holding your dear baby very soon!

You're probably holding your little one by now but wanted to chime in. As pp mentioned, when ctx are irregular, look at how intense they are. Are they starting to get more intense than the previous ones?

Luckily, the week previous to me going into labor my friend told me her birth story where ctx were irregular but they were increasing in intensity (not every ctx was intense). So, when my ctx were 15 mins apart, 4 mins apart, 30 seconds apart (these ones felt like menstral cramps even), 10 mins apart, 8 mins apart, I knew that they were starting to feel more intense and then I called dh home. Otherwise, I might not have called him home cause they weren't that bad all the time. I had her a couple hrs later.

I don't think mine were ever really regular because my labor progressed soo fast. We stopped timimg them before my water broke and didn't actually time the after that.
