What an ugly day on the thread

I had 2 days of Gonal-f, and was in serious pain down there. I saw my doc at work and mentioned this. He did an U/S at 6:30 this am (was scheduled for tomorrow) an we saw 2-3 big (22mm) follies with an 11mm lining. He also had an estrodial drawn which showed 1-2 good follies. So trigger tonight between 8-9 pm, IUI Tuesday morning. Its really hard to feel optimistic seeing all of these sad posts

Hi I am new to this site. I just had my second IUI on last Thursday(10/8). My first IUI was successful but unfortunately my baby died at 20 weeks. It seems I had low fluid, the doctors feel that this was due to the baby and not me.
So This was the first month we could try again. I had 6 follicles. That made me and my husband so nervous, but we are hopeful that one will stick. I hate the 2 week wait, your in the "am I" or "am I not" phase.
I am so scared at the same time to get pregnant again. I thought I was in the clear, we were completely shocked when this happened to us. Part of me is excited for a new pregnancy and then part of me is still grieving my little girl. I have such a range of emotions.

griffin, what a roller coaster ride you have been on. you sound like you are handling it all the best way someone could. i wish you lots of good luck this cycle!

afm, i am 12dpo and took a CB digital pg test and it was negative. it expired in august though, so i am wondering if that could give an incorrect result. but i am not hopefull anyways. this whole 2ww I have felt like i am already in the grieving stage. on wednesday i will get a blood pg test so if it is negative i have prepared my heart already.

hopefully, we see some bfps soon !

Not me though. My period started today.
This next cycle should have less stress. I spent my TWW doing not only my job but 1 1/2other people's as well. I'm going to talk to my dr about an ultrasound this time.

On to IUI #6 for me (this one is unmedicated). This month between Oct 22-25, most likely. SO exhuasting and frustrating. I would love to hear great IUI stories but I seem to have a hard time finding them.

My doc wants me to do 3 more after this one (if it doesn't work) b/c she believes in trying 6 before making a "big decision" and the first 3 weren't with her. So that would be 9 total!! I don't know if I have the stamina.
arrghhh...Good luck to all of you. I can relate to your comments. So glad to be here.

Hi FayeO, good luck on your IUI! I would also love to hear some IUI success stories! 9 IUIs would be a lot - I can understand why you think you wouldn't have the stamina. You should do what is best for you and your Dr. should understand that. I hope whatever decision you make that it brings a BFP!

Hey ladies.... just an FYI. I posted a new thread about positive IUI stories. You can read it for yourself, but I felt like I for one needed some encouragement. I figured I would let it have it own area in case there are some women out there that don't frequent the IUI thread. Just wanted to let everyone know that it is there.

Another Oct IUI

It has been awhile since I posted in this forum. We are in our 2ww of our 1st IUI (last month's was canceled). I have unexplained secondary infertility/repeated pregnancy loss. I've had 5 miscarriages. I'm trying to find that balance of hope and not too much hope, both for the pregnancy and for it sticking. Sending everyone vibes of peace and harmony

Iui #2 this month

Hi everryone, also new here to this site, i have been trying to figure out how to use it. On 4th day of clomid and about a week away from 2nd iui, this will be my first time with a trigger shot. Anyone had a trigger shot, just wondering about side effects, seems there are a lot when i did my research. Last month was 4 eggs and 10 million sperm, but bfn. Just praying for this month for all of us to get bfp.

Well, dw peed on some very good news this morning!

"Pregnant."

:

It's 12dpIUI, and we are over the moon with excitement and relief. This was our one and only chance to use the same donor we used to conceive our other kids (whom I carried).

Hopefully our luck will bring some brightness to this thread.

I had a trigger shot once, and my dw had one once as well. We both got pregnant the cycles that we did the shot, so it's hard to say for sure which symptoms were from the shot and which were from REAL pregnancy hormones. But I think that for me the main side-effect was incredibly sore breasts. The soreness peaked at about 5 dpo and was gone by 9 dpo. For dw, she was very tired and crampy from about 4-7 dpo, and it seemed too early for her to be feeling pregnancy symptoms, so I think it was the shot. She is 4 weeks pregnant now, and feeling less symptomatic than she was that first week after the shot (and her symptoms have changed).

The bummer about the trigger shot is that it makes you feel pregnant even if you're not. But it is so worth it to get the timing just right and to make sure that you're actually releasing the eggs (I was having "incomplete" ovulation before I did the trigger shot). Also, you can't test until 14 days post trigger, which is actually sort of nice (since otherwise it can be tempting to check too early).

Thanks for all the info. I'm not a medication person at all and i always worry about the side effects. The clomid has been giving me horrible hot flashes, but i guess i'll get through it all, in the end i know it will be all worth it.

Welcome Barefoot, Momto Alexis and cgriffin- May your stay be short.

I had my (very) medicated IUI to day. 45 million sperm, 11 million motile. 2WW, here we come

However, on a brighter note, the doc said I can have a progesterone drawn instead of just taking the pills right away (I hate them)

I've done two trigger shots with two IUI's and i really didn't have any symptoms. I'm starting to wonder if they really work for me or not. The first one took like 8 days or so to get out of my system and this second one (this month) didn't even show up 2 days after taking the shot (BFN prego test). Not sure about that one, but like i said I really didn't have many symptoms at all. I really didn't have any symptoms with the clomid either so it might just be my body. Good luck to you!!!

Lex -- Congratulations!!!! Great news for your and your DW! Hope she has a happy and health nine months!

Momtoalexis -- I've had the trigger shot twice. The first time wasn't too bad, a little sore on the leg and some bloating. The second time was worse, very sore leg, bloating and every imaginable pregnancy symptom that lasted until just before my period started. Very frustrating. But the good part about the trigger, like lex wrote, is that you can really time your IUI. Hopefully that's just what you need b/c your other numbers in your post sound good.

As for me, I'm out. Period started yesterday (even though I was on 400mg progesterone!) and today it was confirmed with a negative hcg blood test. I'm on to 1 natural cycle and then IVF.
