It was so incredibly faint for two days prior to that (to the point where I threw one in the garbage convinced it was negative only to see it later)...then yesterday it was much darker. I wanted to wait till today and take another to see if it was still darker...and it was VERY dark! So...it's definitley for real.

I'm only 11DPO though...It's so super early...I would really appreciate any and all sticky vibes you guys can send my way.

here is a link to the chart. insemination was on cycle day 16, 36.5 hours post trigger. any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
I agree with Jenn, chart looks amazing! Could definitely be an implantation dip...!!

Wow, I agree that October is proving to be the luckiest month ever here in queer TTC land.

Things are still looking good on our front. Lots of positive tests so far, some nausea. We're hoping for an early ultrasound to calm some of our fear and worry.....

So, not quite ready to dive head-first (or head-glon, as Quinn calls it for some reason) into the queer pregnancy thread. But, with all hope, we'll be there soon.

be well all,
megin

Megin, that sounds like five year old speak for headlong. I think it's hilarious how kids pick up little turns of phrases from ANYWHERE - they hear stuff once, and glom onto it.

C'mon October BFPs and November early ultrasounds (if that's your thing, but I know I will find it reassuring to hear a heartbeat someday....).

I've noticed this phenomenon where people get all worked up during the 2ww, get the BFP, and then they're all worried and freaking out about a lack of symptoms for another two weeks or so, and then BAM! The nausea hits and it's suddenly all very real.

Stick, zygote, stick and grow into a beautiful baby!!!

Congrats to all those with great news! Wow, what a month!

I'm sharing the OPK frustration, FTMPapa. I just got back from visiting my sister in Texas, with a scary is-it-or-isn't-it-positive OPK at 12 DPO, way too early, and miles from any non-McCain--supporting sperm. The bank talked me into an afternoon retest (neg), and today (2 days later) the morning test line is definitely darker than the ref line, no question, and I've got some CM. So it looks like I'll ovulate tomorrow, only 1-2 days earlier than normal.

Why, why are OPKs so hard to read? And why must we squint at them first-thing-AM, when groggy & squinty & in desperate need of coffee?

FTMPapa, if you're interested, you might want to try BBT charting. It's nerdy and uses data, both pluses for me, and it's reassuring to see (after the fact) yup, there was an ovulation there.

Congrats to all the BFP this month.

It looks like we will be back in the game soon. Right now we are just waiting for AF to arrive, which I hope to be within the next 2 weeks. Once that happens I will start gonal-f injections and prepare for IUI.
With all of the BFP's I am excited to start trying again.

We just found out last night that my 23 year old nephew is going to be a daddy. That stung quite a bit. I have had my moments of anger, frustrations, and feeling that this is not fair. however, DP has been wonderful, reassuring me that it is going to happen for us, and this just means that there is going to be little ones that our baby can grow up with.
I want to be able to start this cycle in a positive and healthy space, so I have to think there is a reason for this and things will work out the way they should.

Did you get home to your sperm in time, Astropeep? I hate it when stuff like that happens!!!

As my fertility doc said when I explained my travel plans (four days out of town, during what is usually my LP but was starting to look like it might actually be when I wanted to inseminate) "Forget it, I run your life now!" She recommended living spontaneously during the LP and not making plans ahead of O. I felt like I was tied down!!

I am going to try BBT if this month doesn't work - I'm also going to try the OV watch (Hey, it worked for KJM!). I just find BBT maddening, especially because I don't keep anything even moderately resembling a normal or predictable schedule.

I am happily inventing symptoms today - maybe some weird twinges?

How's everyone else doing in the 2ww?

Yah, I knew this trip would cut it close, but it's not every day a sib defends a masters thesis! It worked out fine -- my sister is now a master of science, and I got back Tuesday, had a postive OPK Wed, and this morning had the IUI. Whew! My wife was able to nip off work and tag along for the IUI -- awesome!

Good luck to everyone in the 2WW!

Wow, that worked out well! Good luck!

Good luck to FtMPapa and DM630 too!

AFM: I have decided that my desire to have a family is stronger than my fear of having another m/c...ob/gyn gave go ahead after first 'normal' af...so I'm waiting for af now! I'm not getting any younger and I figure if something is seriously wrong it won't matter if I wait 1 month or 6 months. Better to know now I think. Hopefully I don't sound bitter...I really do want to be joyful about the whole process again.

we are still on the temp roller coaster. up and down, up and down, up and down.

meanwhile, last night we journeyed to labor and delivery to meet a dear boy just born. all 6lbs14oz of him! he was the cutest little thing, small feet and all, and i was afraid to touch him. dp though held him for quite some time (after scrubbing in and sanitizing of course!!) and she enjoyed every minute of it.

testing on sunday. fingers tightly crossed.

I'm back and "waiting to know"!

hi, all,

I'm back on the boards after a looong absence from TTCing while my partner and I moved to Oregon. Wanted to get settled and have time together in our new hometown as a couple before we started trying again.. Just did an IUI yesterday, and wondering if I can be moved to waiting to know.

Thanks, and good luck, everyone!

Update

So I'm not the best at updating and/or checking in on here.....

We've done our blastocyst transfer on Wednesday Oct 22nd and will test on October 31st. We transfferred 2 blasts.

Can anyone here tell me how far along we'd be if we were pregnant come October 31st? (would it be the date of my last period - or the specific date of transfer?) Also...... how do I figure out DPO (since they took them out?) just a little bit of a different situation with IVF.

Thanks in advance -
Randi

No idea! Totally guessing - maybe the day of transfer counts as 3 DPO or 5 DPO depending on what day the blasts were?

However, I do know this - Oct 31 is a week from today...I get up early on Fridays, because I teach at 9:00, so I'll be testing around 6:30 that morning. And October has been the luckiest, BFPiest month on this thread, so it's a great day to test!!!

For some reason I don't feel anxious about testing and/or am not being bothered by it right now?....maybe as next week comes and the later in the week it gets - I may get a bit more anxious.

What better day to test then Halloween? and DP has told me we will do only a blood test.......... we'll see.

Hi Randi ...

We transfered two three-day embryos, and when we got our BFP they still backdated and used my last menstrual period as the 'starting point' ... so for example, my last period ended May 14th, then on May 27 we did the transfer, and our due date is February 14th.
As for DPO, our clinic used the transfer day (although I've heard of some people backdating to take into consideration the age of the embryos...)

Hope that helps! And to your wee blasts!

Is anyone taking (or has taken) baby aspirin? I have done a bit of research on it and it sounds like it's a pretty common thing for women going through IVF/assisted IUI. I know it's for blood clotting issues but that's about it. Anyone know of any negative side effects on baby?

I hate taking any medication but am looking at all options at the moment. If anyone is taking it, what condition are you taking it for?

Thanks!
Carmen...I'm taking baby aspirin now. I started last cycle at the instruction of my RE. Basically, it is commonly taken to help with blood circulation and to improve the uterine lining. I think from what I read, it is commonly given to women who have had miscarriages (as I have) in the event that there might be some sort of blood clotting disorder. I'm taking it in combo with Prometrium too though...and just after the insem...not before. I'd ask your DR about it though before you start taking it. Mine basically puts it in the "can't hurt...might help" category...so I take it just to do anything and everything I can so this one sticks. But, like I said...I'd see what his/her stance is on it before you start.

Randi - with IVF, they count how far along you are using your egg retrieval date and fudge the numbers 2 weeks back from there. you can't use the date of your lmp because things get so messed up with the drugs.

i peeked at your blog -- looks like your retrieval was 10/17, so when you test on 10/31 and get your positive beta , you will be 4 weeks pregnant.

you can count dpo in the same way - 2 days past a 5 day transfer (2dp5dt) is the same as a traditional 7dpo.

wishing you loads of luck!!

Thanks!

So as I was laying in bed this morning thinking of it all...I will really be 1 month pregnant that's kinda cool to think about!

And as for the baby aspirin, I am taking it - and DP took it with her IVF cycle too.

Here's to lots of prego people!!
