No way!
Both of my kids have been allowed to sit in my lap or have me right next to them during dental visits. We have an awesome pediatric dentist. My son has had nitrous oxide to have a cavity filled, and while I wanted him to be pain-free more than drug-free, I would never want him to be drugged without me in the room, constantly monitoring him.
