Earflap Toddler hat pattern with Plymouth Encore Yard

I have some white Plymouth Encore Yard(75% acrylic, 25% wool) and size 2 and 8 needles, don't mind buying more. I am looking for a toddler pattern, DS is 2, I searched and the best one I saw was for a 6month old-18months, the yarn was also different. I am a beginner so this will be a big project for me, I made a really short scarf as my first project.

I've made a hat from this pattern for my dd...I made the infant size last year and it still fits this year (though I plan to knit the toddler size this year too). It is a great pattern, if you don't mind paying for one.

I made this pattern out of Encore for my son last year, and I think it will still fit him this year (he is 19mo). Sized infant/toddler/lil kid.
