luvmi2kids, how was your cervical fluid? was it stretchy/egg white? Temps can only prove you have ovulated, they don't predict it very well.

speaking of slip-ups, can you guys take a look at my chart. As I've described before, I've been pretty careless in my charting efforts, but it does appear to me that I ovulated on cd15. we DTD 2x that day, with w/d which is kind of a nono. One of those times was after drinks, and we had both drank too much, so I worry there might have been spillage even though dh says there wasn't And we dtd on CD11 too w/o w/d. AF should be arriving soon and my temps are not trending down as they usually do. I think we might be in for a Christmas surprise I was all prepared to get an IUD on Friday, but it looks like I might be going for pregnancy confirmation instead. DH will be upset, but he'll just have to deal with it.

But guess what? AF just showed up. So if I actually did ovulate then, it's only a 5-day LP. I think someone was saying it's normal for your LP to be shorter PP for a while as your body gets used to doing that again. Mine in the past was always 12 days. Anyway I still don't know when I ovulated, but now I get to toss this cycle aside and try again.
but if O was on cd15 or cd16, which your cm and the spotting point to, you'd have had a 12 day LP. If you throw the temp out on CD9 by rule of thumb, your temps show ovulation around then too

clear and slippery is egg white cervical mucous (because it looks like raw egg whites), the most fertile type of cervical mucous. sperm survive best in it.

slippery generally = fertile. though, if you only noticed it after DTD, it could be left overs.

This cycle I had an 11 day LP and I was shocked to say the least. I haven't had an LP this long since before my first child was conceived four years ago. With nursing mine have always been very short. My youngest son is 18 months and cosleeping. He is still up several times a night but is nursing a little less during the day. My cycle history is listed on my FF here :http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/43357 in case you are interested in seeing someone's experience.

Even though I KNEW there was no possible way I was pregnant, the past few days I started having pregnancy-like symptoms and wondered... maybe I just don't remember what it feels like to have a "normal" luteal phase and what it's like right before my period comes? I don't know. I just felt off.

Anyway, that period of shorter LP's is actually talked about a bit in the Natural Child Spacing book... as a bit of grey area in fertility returning. She even said in some cases it was a continuance of LAM. Like for some, our bodies give us PLENTY of warning that our fertility is coming back.

I don't know if that's appropriate or not, but that was all I could think of to post.

thanks shell s are always appropriate aren't they?

This pretty much seals it, my temp was 98.1 this morning, and I woke up an hour earlier than my usual time. the only other time I've had a temp that high was when pg. I almost barfed in the sink when making my coffee.

How ironic that I'd finally let go and given up. I have been praying that dh would come around. I hope and pray he doesn't react as badly as he did last time. Oh well. I'm going to sit back and try to enjoy the ride and keep my fingers crossed his job doesn't do lay offs.

I guess I'll test with a digital Tuesday night so I can cancel my IUD appointment on Weds morning.

I'm sort of in the headspace right now of "well, that just figures"

I’m baaaaaack.

So we TTC for one cycle and I found out in my 2WW that my job is on the chopping block. DH and I did some serious planning and decided if I wasn’t pregnant, I would go back to midwifery school in August 2009. AF showed today so that is the new plan. I’m a Gemini it’s in my nature to change my mind a bazillion times a day.

I don’t know how long I will be CTA though. I plan to get an IUD as soon as I can afford it. I saw the one they sell in Canada and the UK is $99 and my midwife should be able to insert it. If we are going to be avoiding for a few years, the IUD feels right for me.

I still feel we will have another child but they will most likely be 5-6 years apart which is funny because before I was even pregnant with DS I wanted a bigger space between my children. It seems DH really pressured me into attempting a closer space gap (even though I wanted a baby in my heart, I don’t think I was ready mentally). He started begging me at 6 months post partum but he seems fine with the decision now.

So I am nightweaning and DS is no longer nursing from 7pm-5am. It’s great. He still wakes up but the temping is a lot more steady now.

Texaspeach - I just read this page but it looks like you need a

Just wanted to pop in so I don't fall off the list!

Last cycle was a mess. I was sick around O-time so have no idea when I actually O'd. Then my LP ended up being either 3 or 6 days long I hope it was just because of the illness and that it goes back to 10-11 days this cycle.
texaspeach ~ I can't stand that you are waiting until tomorrow to test. I'd peeing on everything in sight.

Welcome back, Canid.

Barefoot ~ My lp is always shorter than usual when my cycles are coming back. Still, I think it's possible that you Oed around cd16, which would make your lp normal length.

I have a cold so I didn't temp this morning. I've got AF, anyway, so it doesn't matter. I think I'll take a break from temping until it's over. Usually, I'd temp during AF when coming off an anov cycle but since I'm sick I just want to sleep.

well, my drs office called about my appointment friday, so I tested. After this morning's temp, I was pretty sure. Well, that and dry heaving when I made my coffee this morning

I asked the receptionist to change it to a prenatal appointment because I'd just gotten a I can't believe I told the receptionist before dh.

We had a chuckle about how I was coming in for an IUD and got pregnant turns out, IUDs are on back order. I'm glad they were able to fit me in so soon.

So there you go. I'm sort of enjoying having this secret to myself. I'm worried about how dh will react. I've been telling him for a week now that I was worried about it, so he knows it is a possibility. I'm hoping that tempers the news. I guess on the good side of things, I am much more positive this time around. Last time when I told him, I was not very happy to be pg. This time, I'm much more positive. I mean, you can either be happy about it, or wallow in a pit of despair. I won't let myself do that. There's a little prayer that goes "all shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well" that's been my mantra the past couple of days. You have to make the best out of things.

oh, and also? I get my diploma in January! It isn't in the field I wanted, but I'll have a piece of paper proving I went to school (even if it is just an associates degree)

Thanks Marinewife for taking over for me!

texaspeach- Congrats!

Marinewife -Being sick is awful, hope your feel better soon!

CanidFL - Welcome back!

Still haven't O'd that I can see....

Thanks for your opinions on my chart everyone. It helps to have more eyes. I wasn't putting too much stock in the CF since I have had all kinds of CF and spotting for months now, but you know ya'll might be right about O'ing around CD15. I don't think I can know for sure with the big hole in there. But at least I finally O'd either way! Shell_Ell, thanks for sharing your history, that was interesting to check out.

Texaspeach - uhoh! and congrats : and Looks like a pregnancy chart to me. ETA: Ah, and there's your BFP now. Wow! Hope your DH takes it all right.

Canid, welcome back!

Questions for you pros!~!

So, I have been charting since I got my first ppaf in Sept. My last cycle was awesome and I was thrilled to be able to see exactly when I o'd. This cycle is sucking. My temps are all over the place. I guess it could be becuase ds has been marathon nursing all night, or maybe because I don't set an alarm but temp as soon as I wake up (always between 6-7am). cd12-15 I had some good ewcm and cp was awesome, I even had some cramping and I really thought that I was o'ing, but my temp was as low as it has been this cycle. Now my cf is chunky and creamy and my temp is going back up!! I am very confused. Could the fact that ds has been nursing more often be making my cycle wacky. Here is a link to my chart.
