We are Through Surgery and Doing Well!

Well yesterday Thierry underwent the Norwood Procedure, which is the first of the three surgeries he will have to have. He did very well and is now back in the CICU recovering. Unfortunately they had to leave his chest open as not to compress it too much. Hopefully Dr. Jonas will be doing the surgery to close it tomorrow, which is what they told us. He is stable and doing the "wanted and expected" route. It is just very hard to see him with all those extra tubes, on top of all the ones he already had, and the tubes that are there for blood flow and then seeing the open heart chest dressing they have on him. It is very hard on DH, he couldn't bear to be in there too long. But I will keep you all updated!

Keep us in your prayers, as I know you all have.

What a relief to hear he is doing well. I am so sorry that you and your family and Thierry have to go through this though.

You've definately been in my thoughts this week, mama. I know it must be so hard to see your sweet babe with all those tubes and wires but it really sounds like he's in wonderful hands at the hospital.

Thanks for the update and do know that we're all thinking/praying for little Thierry bear. He's such a strong little guy...just like his mama. I'll be thinking of him during his surgery tomorrow.

Oh mama, I'm glad to hear that Thierry is handling the surgery well.

How are you doing? I have tears in my eyes thinking about you both right now. It bet it's nice to have Petri to give hugs and love on when you are feeling like you want to hold Thierry.

I have tears in my eyes too. So glad to hear that phase one is over with and went so well.
Can't wait to hear more after tomorrow.

Maryann!! I'm glad he made it through the surgery and is stable. It must be so hard to see him go through that - I'm glad he's so strong for you. You're in my thoughts and prayers as is your little Thierry and your family!

I'm so glad to hear Thierry is doing well. I can't imagine how hard this is on you and your family. s for you all. i can;t wait to see a picture of you holding your Thierry bear in your own home!!!
