Beautiful little boy. I especially love the picture of your husband sleeping with baby M. You can just see the love...

As for your birth story...you just cant overestimate the effects of not feeling safe and supported during labor. I am sorry that your midwife did not do that for you...

What a beautiful family! Your little boy is so precious!

I agree with the pp. The most important thing is to feel safe. You didn't know that you weren't going to feel safe at home with your midwife. But thankfully you had a terrific, safe hospital experience. It gives me hope that somehow hospital birth is moving on the right track.

Awww! He is so cute. Thanks so much for sharing your story--it was fascinating.

It sounds like the hospital was where you needed to be.

I will say though that not all midwives are like that. Mine was hugely supportive. She encouraged me throughout the whole labor (although mine was only 4 hours).

So for future kiddos, don't let this experience discourage you from a future home birth.

Wow; your midwife sounds awful ... what on earth was her problem? I'm sorry you had that experience. That is atypical from everyone I've talked to who's hired a midwife. I'm glad you and baby are healthy and happy. And your hubby sounds like a good ally. The pics of him with baby are just so brilliant - he is beaming from ear to ear! So sweet! Little Muhammad is beautiful, masha Allah. Mabruk!

He is absolutly gorgeous!! I am so sorry your midwife treated you that way and made you feel like that. I think my labor would have stalled too being around somebody like that. I am so glad that it turned out well in the hospital.
