My babe was breech with no signs of moving at 35.5 weeks. I did opt for a version as I had a feeling s/he wasn't going to move on its own (I've been concerned about breech this entire pg and never have been before, just as I worried about shoulder dystocia while pg with DS and he did get stuck). Anyway, given my history of good-sized babies (8.7 and 10.1) I felt it was better to do the version then rather than wait another week to decide since as they get bigger, they get more difficult to turn.
I'm not trying to convince you to do the version at all, just letting you know my thought process. I'm usually pretty anti-intervention, but just knew this was right for us in our situation. Are you willing to have an u/s to determine if there is a physical reason for baby being breech and then deciding? Have you tried all the techniques on spinningbabies.com?
Also, at my next appointment after the version, my mw and I spoke a lot about what she has noticed in her 20 years as a mw and late-term breeches. She said many times the mom has fears or other issues that have her holding back in some way, that there is a hesitancy to beginning motherhood with their little one. I reflected on this and realized it was completely true for me; I have not been able to bond as much with this one as before and am reluctant to have baby come as this is almost for sure my last pg and I know I will miss it. So my mw says the thought is baby is trying to be closer to your heart and/or is just making sure you notice it. For me, simply having to contemplate a possible c/s was enough to scare me into paying more attention to my baby since having one is one of my big fears.
So that may apply to you at all, but I figured I'd mention it since it was so helpful for me. My baby has stayed head down since the version and I'm focusing more on her/him and being connected. Good luck mama and remember some babies don't turn until labor.
