Mesa Glendale Breastfeeding stores closed

Ok, so maybe I haven't been there for about six months or so...but just when I really needed the Glendale Best Fed store I find out it closed. I knew the Mesa store closed a while back, but why did the Glendale store close also? Were they doing that bad with business. I always saw moms in there renting, buying, attending classes, working with the lactation consultants. Does anyone have any idea why they closed???? I'm so sad...that store provided such a great service for the breastfeeding community, in fact it was those mommas that steered me toward MDC.

I am so sad that Bestfed closed also. I heard about it the last week that they were open for business so I went in to say goodbye and to help them clear out some inventory

The gal working behind the counter said that the owner had decided that "it was time". Kind of cryptic, but that is all the information I got. I thought they were doing some online stuff, too, but under a different name.

The owner used to run the BF support group. I have seen her profile on here. Her kids had unusual names so when I saw her signature it really stood out to me. Maybe she can provide some info.
I know for one thing she lived in Gilbert so that was a looooong drive. I think once Lori the Lactation consultant "left" or got fired whatever the hell happened the place fell apart.
Sad.. I loved going there for the support group.

That stinks cause it looks like we will finally be out that way in mid-Dec.

It was an awesome store. The former owner of BestFed is now working with Wildflower Diapers in Scottsdale, another great local store. They offer both babywearing workshops and cloth diapering workshops. ITA that another breastfeeding store is needed in Phoenix!

They weren't making any money, so they had to close. Every Mother and Child in Mesa is closing too, Baby and Breastfeeding Basics in Chandler closed. Things are tough all over.

Jenny's closing??

Yep. She posted on AZ Mamas about closing and her clearance sale. She's going to do pump rentals from her house, I think.

Oh NO!!! I just checked this thread after I posted a while back. I had no idea the other stores were closing too. Where's a breastfeeding mama supposed to go now!! I loved those stores and they helped so much for a low milk producing mama like me. I hope someone opens back up when the economy starts improving...

Baby, Mother, and More on Gilbert Rd. in Mesa is still open too.

Lori the lactation consultant was a tremendous help to me after DS was born. She is working independently now. It is a bummer about the store...

Oh how cool. Lori was my Lactation Consultant also. Do you know where she works out of or how to get ahold of her?
