I'm at the tail end of having a cold. Stuffy nose, hacking cough...it was horrible. I forbid this babe from coming until I was over it. I drank a ton of Emergen-C and garlic lemonade and managed to knock it out, thank goodness.

Well, I talked with my mom a few hours ago...and she's busy packing and getting ready to catch her train tonight. No apology from her, of course, but she does seem excited to be coming. I just hope she can act like a grown-up and be there for my ds.

I've been contracting all afternoon and my back is killing me. I think I probably just overdid things cleaning this morning so I'm gonna go lay down before I have to head out to teach class in a bit. I'm hoping I can get back home before the VP debate starts (I'm a glutton, what can I say?!?).

So, how is everyone's Thursday evening shaping up??

I've decided to get a manicure/pedicure on my way home from work this evening. I was out @ lunch & someone gave me a 20% off coupon - and I thought... maybe this is what my feet need... This was after I had been trying on shoes @ DSW and became increasingly depressed about the sorry state of my huge, swollen feet.
So, that is how my Thursday nite is shaping up. Woo hoo!

YAY for another great OB appt! Gained 1 lbs since last week, so right at 31-32lbs now. Doc said he’s amazed at how perfect I’m gaining the weight, especially since I gained 60 with Christopher (oops!). BP is ideal, I’m measuring right on, and her heartbeat is what it should be. She even gave them a show and started kicking hard while they were getting her heartbeat. The doc & nurse were laughing bc my belly was all over the place, lol.

I asked about the hubs man catching the baby (bc he said he wanted to) and the doc said no problem as long as he gets the head and shoulders out first. And then I asked about having the blue screen lowered all the way if I end up needing a c-section so I can watch and he said no problem to that also! Woot! I love my OB more and more every visit

ARGH! I am SOOOO uncomfotable! I'm not happy unless I'm sitting with mty legs as far apart as possible. Getting in and out of the car is torture, and I keep falling asleep whenever I sit down! I've been having huge bursts of energy followed by a long slump, so work on the house has been sporadic at best. Hmmph! :

Lee- You are so my carbon copy! Your last post on yesterday's thread had me ROTF!!! Right down to the 'ok, I have the tiny clothes in the baskets, now I need the tiny person!'

JMarie- My DH massages my shoulder too. Although, I don't know if he does it because he feels bad for me, or because he knows that if he doesn't he'll be kept awake while I pace the floor doing self massage! I actually had a better night last night, how'd you do?

My friend had an emergency C-section last night, and delivered a 6lb, 3 1/2 oz baby boy named Elijah! He was due on the 31st. He breathed well on his own, but they're keeping him in the NICU to monitor his sugar levels. HE NURSED!!!! The nurses told my friend he wouldn't take a bottle for them, and when they let her attempt to nurse, he latched right on and held on for dear life! He nursed for 20 minutes!!! Yay!! :

I was laughing at all of you talking about when you wanted to begin labor. The common thread seems to be sleep! I was just thinking last night, that I'd like to go into labor after a good night's sleep, but who knows when that will happen?

Congrats to all the new mommas and babies I'm done sulking now. I know baby will come when she's good and ready, but thinking it's happening & waiting for it, to have it not is really frustating! I didn't have anything like this with Colin, no signs of labor until labor. I liked it better that way! So now I spend most of my day wondering when.. ? I know feel for those of you who're in the same boat and feeling frustrated.

We had a great day today, perfect fall weather! Breezy and cool. I worked on the baby's blanket while Colin played in the yard. Then dh came home and we went to the beach for a walk and to let Colin play. Such a relaxing time. Now I've got laundry to wash, fold & put away, and dishes to wash.. dinner to cook.. Should be good and tired tonight so I don't just lay there for hours wishing I could sleep!

I hope that everyone's doing well!

I actually slept four hours straight, which was SUCH a nice relief. Unfortunately, I woke up with such a stiff arm. NOT FUN. Even better, DS was a complete crank and wouldn't get ready for school, just had a horrible morning. Which, of course, turned into a horrible day at school as far as behavior goes. LOVE to get those reports at the end of the day!

Anyway, took a muscle relaxant and some Tylenol, and the arm loosened up enough that I was able to get at least a LITTLE accomplished today. I have a chiro appointment in the morning too, so that should help me have an even better day tomorrow. I just want my arm to feel better when I wake up, that's all! DH will definitely have to massage it when he gets home tonight, though. I'm expecting him early - he's so excited the Cubs are in the playoffs, and the game doesn't start until 9:30PM tonight. He's actually worried that they'll make the World Series, and I'll go into labor during a crucial game! I just laugh at him, because unfortunately, that exact same thing happened when we got married (only it was the Mariners playing). It would be just our luck.

I'm waiting..........I don't feel ready yet to meet this little one.

Tara, the ultrasound pic is sooo cute. I admit that I had to have hubby point out the face to me....I just wasn't seeing it

I am all stuffy too and feel irritated and exhausted most of the time. Today was hubby's day off so that was nice.

Wonder when baby will come?

Hey, ladies!

I'm checking in all the time now to read these birth stories. Wish I could post mine in the next 24 hours! I had some cntx and took a walk, but nothing is happening now. I did get to enjoy the debate, though. Politics and pregnancy - what a mix!

Hope you all get some quality sleep tonight.
