Big Pharma Ties Want to Shut Down Vaccine 'Conspiracy Theories'

I guess I don't get it. The article is saying it's because of the MMR/thimerosal link, but there never was thimerosal in MMR. Thimerosal is not used in live virus vaccines, which would be MMR, Varicella, and Rotovirus.

ETA: I just happened to read that Liz Bert (one of the original 'mercury moms') had somehow found mercury in the MMR, there may be more info on that somewhere.

This just makes me sick. We "think" we live in a free society but that couldn't be further from the truth.

A foundation populated by the giants of business, banking, government and military wants to “vet” websites and limit the spread of information that it says creates “conspiracy theories”.

One “damaging conspiracy theory” they want to shut down is the notion that MMR vaccines are harmful. Of course, this “conspiracy theory” stems not from paranoid forum postings and misquoted blog entries, but from scientific research into the mercury based preservative thimerosal.

I think they are in trouble and are going to great length to shut us up. Vaccines in general and the facts about 9/11.

In just a few short years, look how many people have changed their worldviews dramatically. The Internet has been the key to all that. Those who have been controlling things for so long through their fake money system, dumbing down "educational" system, illness-creating medical system, contrived political system and mind-numbingly manipulated media system, are not going to take a whole lot more of this. People are starting to think for themselves and make their own decisions God forbid.

What's happening is people are simply not participating in many of these systems. Increased homeschooling, non-vaccination, major newspapers getting destroyed circulation-wise are all evidence of this. It all falls apart with non-participation. No one has to do anything drastic, just simply not participate. That's why the conspiracy theory tactic is so vital to them. Unfortunately for them the gig is up. The worm has already turned. They just don't know it yet. Of course, this will all get very interesting when they are running around with their needles trying to poke someone and people are all hiding or just laughing.

*raises hand*

I've learned so much thanks to the internet. In all honesty, I've learned about more controversial, thought provoking things here in cyberspace (or from books I order from cyberspace and would have one heck of a time finding elsewhere) than in class, college or otherwise.

Just one more reason not to believe them when they say vaxes are mercury free.

So, everyone repeat after me:
if people learn disturbing things about how government *&%$ them through the internet, this is INTERNET’s fault and god forbid NOT the government's. ::
So, just need to "take care" of the internet and everyone will be happy again! What is to not be happy about??! After all, we live in free country and our government takes a good care of us, right?? :

I'm repeating after you because this is absolutely spot on. It's ALL THE INTERNET'S FAULT. THE INTERNET DID IT. WE MUST ALL BLAME THE INTERNET.

I read a Washington Post article a few weeks back that did blame the Internet and called for serious restrictions. It argued that people are not smart enough to handle all the information. That's why they have the big push for Internet II. The Internet has been great for spying on people, but it's been even better for information that use to be almost impossible to get out on a large scale. It use to be as simple as contolling the big publishing houses, the major newspapers and the talking heads on tv. Not rocket science. Now it's a completely different ballgame.

The internet has made so much information available that bigbusiness wants to keep mum that I am more grateful than you'd want to know for it.

Now if only some disgruntled bigPharma employee would come on out and spill the beans on them....that would make my year!

They aren't going to shut them down folks. The W3C is just considering adding a layer of 'trustability' to the web - where government/company/etc sites can pay to be labeled 'trustworthy' vs not being labeled. They aren't going to go around and label stuff as 'conspiracy' - they're just not going to give WAPF, NVIC, etc the 'trustworthy' label - folks will still be free to post whatever they like just like now - it just wont' be gov/W3C "approved".

I read recently that the Pharma org is actually doing something else... at least first. The CDC has created an organization that is the official source for vax info. I imagine whenever any reputable new organization wants to do something on vaxes they will have to use this agency to fact check. I remember seeing a link on MDc a few weeks ago to their site but I didn't save it.

The internet is too vast and too autonomous to be "shut down" in the way that I think many people fear. There will always be hackers and coders who are several steps ahead of government meddlers. As the old adage goes, information wants to be free.

It's really fascinating to watch the corporate information complex collapse like a house of cards. I remember when everyone I knew considered the New York Times to be the most trustworthy source of journalism around. Now it's known as just another corporate shill for endless war and ever more government interference in our lives. I don't think this perception could have become so widespread without easy, fast internet access for the masses.

We are on the cusp of some very...interesting times.

Aren't there other, more sinister sites that "they" should worry about? Like terrorist sites, child pornography sites ...

I guess no one loses revenue from the effects of those sites though.

This is pretty funny also. The sad truth is so many people distrust, or at the very least are skeptical of, the government that if they do have a label for "trustworthy" as authorized by the government, those will be the sites many people just ignore. It almost works to the benefit of many to know ahead of time which sites are "trustworthy." It would save a lot of time by knowing which sites to avoid, which in Orwellian terms would be the "trustworthy" sites.

I didn’t think that was possible…the mercury would kill the live virus. Where did you read that? I am very interested.

Yes, we need to "save our children from the dark dungeons of the InternetS."
