insomnia?? already?!?!?

you have got to be kidding me! i am like 4 weeks, 1 day, and i have been waking up at 2 am each night and not able to fall back asleep until 3 or 4 : it's usually after having one of my insanely vivid dreams (i always have had these with a pregnancy).

as if i'm not tired enough during the day with the early preg. hormones, co-sleeping and night nursing, now this insomnia. actually though, dd is a great co-sleeper/night nurser. she wakes b/w 1-3 times a night and nurses back to sleep within minutes, or just needs her back patted.

I had that with my last pregnancy. It sucks! So far, I just keep waking up earlier and earlier in the morning when I really want to be sleeping.

um yeah. i am 5 weeks tomorrow and i've been experiencing insomnia all week. it doesn't help that i don't want to go to bed early either. that's my only alone time!

That is the worst! I thought my problem of taking a long time to fall asleep was bad, but I would go crazy if I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep!

and hope you get some sleep soon!

Our gestational carrier (surrogate) is going through the same thing (5 weeks), I feel soooo bad for her, but know there is nothing I can do to help. (She has had such easy pregnancies with her 3 children, and ours is definitely the hardest on her - I feel so guilty).

I hope it passes quickly and you are able to sleep soon.

That is actually one of the very first symptoms for me-- before I'll ever get a BFP on a test, my dreams start going crazy-- long, vivid, intense. I feel like I'm dreaming actively all night long, and they aren't usually good dreams either. I have been waking up several times every night, either to visit the bathroom or b/c of the dreaming. I'm 5w1d, but it's been like that for near on two weeks now.

Do not feel guilty. I am sure she thinks the discomfort is worth it.

Uhh, I have been peeing like crazy. I get up once a night to pee.

I, too, am having TERRIBLE insomnia. I've had it about a week, along with the vivid, crazy dreams. And I'm only in my 5th week.

I've never been pregnant before. Is this something that lasts, or is it temporary? I never knew it was a symptom until this has been happening and I googled it, and now found it here. Must.get.sleep.

Well, it doesn't help with the peeing, but get yourselves some more pillows! Not that it's saving me, but it's giving me a chance at some sleep this week. DH keeps swearing that I'm out/dead to the world every time he wakes up. If that's so, why is HE waking up? I swear I'm waking up constantly.

Well, the insomnia struck last night. I had a crazy dream (I always have really vivid dreams). After I was so tired, but I could not get back to sleep. I think if dh was here I would have gotten back to sleep faster, but instead I was up for hours.

Hi. I haven't posted an intro thread, because this is a more pressing issue to me. *yawn*

A few days now. I remember this from previous pregnancies. Why, when I'm sooooooo tired, can't I sleep like a log all night?

My theory...because the baby is inhabiting my body now. I get to play by its rules. Stop everything and pee more often (diapering), eating more often OR ELSE, feeling like I could nap 2-3 times a day plus being up at odd hours during the night.

Brings new meaning to the term "sleeping like a baby." I wonder if CIO mamas go through this, too.

Maybe CIO moms wake up feeling alone and abandoned in the middle of the night and then cry until they eventually pass out.
