can't believe i bought maternity clothes

I bought maternity clothes yesterday. Yeah, I know I won't even think of needing them until January or so....

BUT! Here's the rationale:

JCPenny's has a 75% off original price maternity stuff for summer (short sleeves, capris, etc.) and I live in SC where you can actually start wearing that stuff in March, April and May, when I'll be big as a house.

So, the bottom line is: I bought 6 shirts, a pair of capri's, and a dress for $57. WOW. And the best part? On the receipt when it tells you how much you saved (wait for it) ......drumroll please...... I saved $208.

Woah.

WOW thats awesome!!!

I would have done it.

And I have been planning a run on JCPenney's, they are having a huge sale on office-wear, too....

I did the same thing. I did not get a lot of stuff, but things that were exceptionally priced. I have a few sundresses and tank top for the summer.

I also bought myself a skirt and tights for the fall already. I do not mind wearing maternity clothes, and I was already in maternity stuff at 6 weeks last time.

That's smart, imo. I was eyeing the Target clearance racks when I was there the other day. Will have to decide whether to burn my energy doing that today or something else

ok, that totally rules.

I agree that buying for the spring/summer is a smart idea. Also, I recommend buying the winter stuff kind of early if you are "fashionable" because it gets picked over really quickly!! And all that is available in January is the new spring stuff, yikes!

As far as me, I have a crazy amount of maternity clothes from the last 2 times and will probably buy more! I think looking good during pregnancy has really helped me to feel good, sexy and healthy!

LOL. I am _wearing_ maternity clothes already. My regular jeans (which were a bit too tight to being with) are already unwearable. And I like my two pairs of maternity jeans so much that I never packed them away with my other maternity clothes.

sorry, repost.

There are some seriously cute hoodies on the $14.92 sale at oldnavy.com. And who doesn't need sweatshirts? Mine are all skanky anyway and these are brand new shiny *maternity* sweatshirts. Yum. Pink AND blue, TYVM.

I did not even see those. I just got a pair of pants there.

Might as well get them while they are on sale! Honestly, I could probably wear maternity clothes right now.

Wow! That is an insane deal! I am beginning to think about getting some maternity clothes, I wore them pretty early last time (maybe 8-10 weeks?) and the work I do (midwifery) requires me to be pretty comfortable. I am excited for 9 months of elastic waistbands!

Well... you are really going to laugh at this! I bought a summer maternity shirt Saturday before I even knew I was pregnant!! It was a good deal and super cute!! I figured I would safe the receipt in case I didn't get pregnant anytime soon!!

I may have to run to Penny's to check out their clearance racks!! I am all about getting some deals!! I just don't want to jinx anything by buying too early.

That is a really good idea. I will go check out some clearance racks and online stores. I like the old navy online store, cause they have pants that are short and maternitiy. As a very round 4'10 momma, it's hard to find clothes that fit. They had really nice jeans that I loved last time.

I was just writing on here about a pair of pants I found at Old Navy and then your post came through gabby. We are thinking a like. I got these awesome petite pants at Old Navy today, and they fit great. Woo-hoo!

More stuff on sale at oldnavy.com - although the price of the hoodies went up a bit. Long sleeve t-shirts got cheaper. Lots more stuff now, and many way lower prices.

I think I'm going to break out my maternity but don't look it t-shirts this weekend.

I'm already wearing maternity pants, if only because the one pair I bought from JCPenney's clearance now makes it 3 pairs of pants that fit, one of which (surprise surprise), the maternity, is actually comfortable.

I know I'm not showing, but I am going through the early pregnancy mega bloating of doom, and I HATE tight pants.

Oh, I'll have to check out JCPenney ASAP!!! That's a great deal! I totally would have done that.

I have a few borrowed winter things from a friend, but some of it won't fit very long, as they're size L and I'm really an XL.

So did JCP have any dresses that actually go a bit below the knee? I was surfing Old Navy and Motherhood online yesterday (before I tested ), and I noticed that all the dresses were above the knee. I'm tall and look stupid in dresses like that, plus they'd probably be even shorter on me, and I'd really rather them go just a bit below my knees. Of course the styles right now are all short short short. I'm a 31 year old mother. I don't need to be wearing things that short! JCP usually has more conservative clothing though, so I'll have to check them out. I want to wear a dress... I haven't worn one in AGES since I was nursing up until a couple months ago.

The dress I bought went below the knee. I'm a 34 yo teacher (high school) and i don't need to wear short dresses or boobalicious shirts. Have you noticed that many maternity shirts are VERY low cut? I mean, I'm going to have my own ...swell... I dont' need to keep teenage boys' interest THAT WAY! puke.
