hi, I'm new here. my 5 y/o & 3y/o are UTD on vax (but will not continue to be recieving vax.)my 3 mon. old is not vax at all.I'm kinda worried about the whooping cough. does anyone think its a good idea for my husband & I to get the vax? for the sake of not spreading it to our 3 kids.

DTap does not prevent transmission of the disease. Getting adults vaxed to protect children doesn't work.

I was about to post the same thing...

Me too. You would do better to maintain a strong immune system (to avoid becoming ill in the first place) and treat coughs or sniffles with sodium ascorbate. When I am not eating or sleeping well I get swollen glands; if I ignore that I usually end up with a sinus infection. It's so predictable now, but I did not have this early warning system prior to getting Mono at 18.

The pertussis vaccine is so designed that at best you build some immunity to the bacteria that causes whooping cough. But you can still be carrying the bacteria and pass it on to anyone.
The ironic thing about it is that if a person is vaccinated they can still get whooping cough but a milder version. Unfortunately they are then seldom correctly diagnosed with whooping cough and thus do not prevent contact with others.

SA you can get at most on line vitamin shops.

You can check my post out here and find out where I get mine.

thanks for shedding some light. I heard if a vaxed person gets the disease they were vaxed against, theres a good chance they'll get it worse than an unvaxed person, b/c, normally the virus goes through liver 1st, but if you've been vaxed, your bodies original plan of defense is corrupted.I guess it depends on the individual and their diet and lifestyle though.

but I didn't get it about still carrying viruses even though you've had the vax.I guess there goes merck's multi million dollar idea.

Omigosh, I could have written that - verbatim - for myself!

Not all vaccines prevent transmission, though docs would like to to believe that they do. "Herd immunity" is a big argument for them to get vaccine compliance.
