I got more prenatals today and remembered how much I like the Target generic prenatals- usually vitamins upset my stomach but these never have. Highly recommended! And cheap. I paid $6.99 for 200...

Times like these I wish I wasn't such a stickler for veggie vitamins. That's crazy cheap.

That is a good price! But I'm sticking with my Rainbow Light One a Day. They're the only ones I can take that don't make me feel queasy.

I have been taking Innate Response Prenatals Trimester 1&2 for about 9 months now. I love them! They are very expensive, but they are smaller and easier to swallow then others I took. I feel great on them. Also, rather insignificant, but they are packaged in glass not plastic.

rainbow lite are the ones i take as well. they are not the cheapest, but not the most expensive, either. i take that along with a sublingual liquid form of vit. b complex/folic acid.

I usually take ones from my naturopath called FemPrenatal by Metagenics but I'm all out so right now I'm taking Rainbow Lite (the 6 a day kind) but I'll probably switch back when I can get some more from her.

I like Floravit (from the company that makes Floradix, the iron supplement). It is in liquid form, and primarily herb-based. I feel like it goes right into my body rather than my having to break it down extensively. I also take pure fish oils, B-complex (with folic acid) and probiotics.

Oh crap. They aren't veg? I took rainbow light the first time around and still got queasy unless I took them right before bed so I could sleep through the nausea.

OMG- I am getting queasy thinking about being queasy.

Last time I couldn't find a brand of prenatals I could stomach so I just ate a very high iron diet that was as whole foods and nutritionally balanced as possible. It all worked out just fine. This time, I'm taking a calcium supplement along with the folic acid and haven't looked into prenatals at all. Probably won't, given my response to them last pregnancy.

I don't know...I was just assuming. Very few vitamins are. If they are, PLEASE let me know. I will _so_ buy those instead.

I get my vitamins from Shaklee - they are the only vitamin company I trust. I am continuing my regular multi (Vita-Lea) and am now adding a B Complex with Folic acid and a soy protein shake. I think I will probably start on an Omega 3 supplement as well. It all costs some money, but it is worth it - this is the foundation, right?

I just take alfalfa, and I make the capsules myself. Gives me really good iron levels with NO constipation from synthetic iron.

I LOVE New Chapter prenatal vitamins! I only discovered them at the end of my last pregnancy, but I noticed a difference immediately. They are food-based, although they are fermented in soy.

I take the New Chapter Prenatals and LOVE them.

I have been taking Sisu's Multi Expecting for over a year and start Nordic Naturals' Prenatal DHA right after O. I'm a vegetarian and sometimes find it hard to have a 'complete' diet so decided to take the fish oils while I'm pregnant....and I've been eating salmon at least once a week.

Today I read that only 30% of prenatals have iodine in them. I'd definitely make sure that whatever I take does have iodine. I checked the Rainbow Lite that I have and it does have iodine.

For what it's worth, you can get veggie DHA. My RE recommended Opti Nate or something like that, and it has DHA capsules along with the prenatal vitamin, and it is totally veggie. I even called the company to verify.

Hm. I am fairly certain I get enough iodine from salt, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to look into that. Thanks for the tip.

I take New Chapter as well & have been really happy with them. I also take Nature's Choice Ultra-Mins.

For those who consume sea salt rather than iodized salt, it's nice to have a prenatal that supplies iodine. I didn't even realize this during my last pregnancy, when I was not using iodized salt, but luckily my prenatal vitamin had iodine (New Chapter). This time I have added some kelp to my diet for iodine.

I use sea salt, but it does have iodine added. Are you folks using something special?
