so my husband and i are trying to repair our credit standings, and he has been going over his credit report with the people at his credit union-and he found some things on his report that are not him and we know are his dad. most of them are either things you order over the tv or mail in offers for book clubs and what nots. it seems his dad ran things up in his son's name and kept the goods, but of course never paid the bills. these things are all now in collections and looking really bad on his credit reports.
does he simply dispute them, or does he rat out his dad? does he have to rat out his dad in order to dispute them? im not saying we want to protect his dad, we dont-we are both disgusted that he did this-but neither one of us is actually surprised.
just wondering how to proceed.
