I'm taking this into my own hands...

I'm not entirely full of energy today, but I'm feeling restless. I finally got all of my homework done for the following week so I'm ready! Bring this kid on! I'm taking it into my own hands with as many "natural" inducing methods. I'm gonna make myself busy with it all night. Here's what I'm going to do. PLEASE add to my list with your suggestions.

Continue evening primrose (2 1000mg capsules at bedtime, vaginally)
Going to walk up and down my stairs (two at a time, legs wide open)
Going to use my breast pump for some mild nipple stimulation
Have my nightly orgasm (pretending as if it's actually helping)
Continuing my gentle birth formula
Eat some hot wings
A few more sets of Squats (15 at a time)
Hip rotations
Next chiropractor appointment is Monday morning

Any other ideas???

I just want to be dilated a bit at the doctors on Tuesday. I know I have trouble dilating at a good rate and it has landed me with a c-section before. I don't even want to think about possible inductions...just natural methods

what is your EDD?

this is my 4th and i have no idea how dilated i am..i think it would drive me insane to know. w/ my 3d, though, i dilated very very very slowly (only the last few hours at full dilation but labor was over 36 hours).

try not to drive yourself crazy w/ inductions (even if natural). can you start a project? a BIG one that you will NEVER finish w/in 2 weeks or so?

Eat some spicy East Indian food. The spices they use are very powerfully stimulating, and yummy!

Hey, stopping in from the September board.

acupressure is worth a shot. google search acupressure and labor and you will get website showing you the spots to use. Thing is.. if you or your baby just aren't ready then it wont happen so you can feel some relief knowing it wont happen unless things are good to go! I should know.. I was able to self induce with my first.. had him a week early.. this one is 7 days overdue, and no self induction has worked to put me into labor. *shrugs*

Foot/ankle massage! I've heard they're related to acupressure points and can really make a difference.
I'm the same as you-I have PUPPPS and I can't stand it, plus I can only use my steroid cream for another week-after that, I'm screwed! So all you're doing sounds good =)

I want to try acupressure...but every place that I called says that they only do acupuncture (and they told me that they didn't think I would get any benefit from it). Yet I've read so many good things about both of them at this point. Hmmm...

Yeah that! Start a big project that will probably take a couple weeks- it really speeds things up. Good idea PassionateWriter! I will have to think about doing the same thing...

The acupressure stuff is really easy to do at home, even w/o a partner as long as you can still reach your ankles! I've been doing that and every single time I do I have like 12-14 hrs of "practice labor" so I think it does something but for me it just fizzles out after that. Gonna try again soon since I'm 5 days past due & hope that the baby is more ready to go this time around and labor gets more established.

Good luck!

Acupressure is definitely easy to do on your own. There are a few places in the foot/ankle that are key. I know there's a lot of info online about where exactly to press and such. And, if you're open to acupuncture and are feeling absolutely ready for baby to be here, it can be very effective! The points they should focus on are mostly in your feet/ankles and there's also 1 or 2 in your hands. GL!

If you really want someone else to do it, there are many massage therapists who are versed in foot reflexology. My massage therapist is going to start acupressure on my feet next week!

^My chiro does it as well and said she'd start doing it tomorrow (38w3d).
