Go booby juice!
So the lactation consultant talked me into renting the pump for at least an extra week and the nurses were all reassuring me that it was normal if we had trouble getting Levi to all nursing from getting all the bottles like he was, etc. They were very encouraging about it, but I just didn't see him having any trouble. He's got a better latch than DD2 did at full term and LOVES nursing. There are no nipple confusion or lazy latch with this little guy.
Well, I was proven right today. He weighed in at 4lb, 9oz Saturday night at the hospital. They didn't weight him yesterday before discharge. Today, he was weighted at the pediatrician's office and he weighed in at. . . FIVE POUNDS!!!! That's as big as DD1 was at discharge at 37 weeks (Levi's 36 weeks on this coming Thursday)! OK, even if the scales are off from each other by a few ounces either way, that's still a significant gain! Go Mommy milk!
