I've been sitting here for 15 minutes trying to work out how exactly I wanted to phrase this email. Would you believe it if I told you I have no idea what to say? I know. Jaw-dropping. I think it's because there is just no adequate way to describe the experience to someone. We're feeling such a huge rush of emotions today that the only one that can be pinpointed is joy. It is with great, resounding joy (and tears of joy are forming in my eyes as I say/type this) that I tell you. . .
Levi is home.
Tim and I are exhausted but in a state of euphoria after our night of "nesting" at the hospital. In the nursery at the hospital, Levi was on a pretty strict 3 hr feeding schedule. Last night he discovered the all you can eat, all hours buffet and he loved it! Everyone keeps reassuring us that he'll catch on to nursing, we just have to keep at it, but I'm guessing none of them have seen this boy when he's hungry! We were up bright and early and were able to get discharge paperwork taken care of fast enough that we were home by about 10:30 this morning and are taking the morning settling in. The girls spent the weekend at my mom's house and Brandon is at his mom's house right now, so we have a little time just the three of us (well, and Sparkle- she's so thrilled that the new "puppy" finally came home. She's been smelling him for weeks). Levi is so thrilled about being home that he's spent the time so far sleeping.
We'll continue to update you all on how Levi's doing. Right now, he's doing great and will have his first visit with our regular pediatrician tomorrow.
Thank you all for your prayers and concerns.
