temps going down, what should I do?

This a.m. my temp went down for the 3rd consecutive day, about 1/10 per day. It's still above coverline, but the lowest since my BFP (I'm now about 23 dpo). My beta @ 20 dpo was 3480, but progesterone wasn't checked. Today my boobs/nipples are not longer sore and tender, so I'm starting to freak out. Part of me wants to temp again tomorrow morning to see if it goes back up. But if it goes down again, what can I do about it? My gyno will lecture me if I call up to say I'm temping and worried. I don't know what to do.

I think I have heard that temps can go up and down during pregnancy. Have you googled it? It could be nothing. Going in for another beta might give you a better idea of what is going on? I will keep you in my thoughts.

Of course I Googled!!! Did that all morning. Hard to find reliable info, but mostly found that dropping temps can indicate impending m/c, not what I wanted to hear.... But it didn't say dropping by how much, or whether or not it's "normal" to have a few lower days after a high post-BFP week of temps.

Yeah, that is kind of what I figured. I wish there were more definitive answers for you. Perhaps you can put this into the generic "Pregnancy" section and see if anyone had a similar thing happened. I think most people just do not know because they stop temping after a bfp.

If it were me, I would get a progesterone test asap, and if it is low start supplementing. Or maybe start supplementing regardless. But, I hate to say it, it may not help.

On the other hand, it it always possible that you slept with your mouth open or something and it's just a fluke. My temp has dropped by about .3 once or twice during pregnancy, but it has always gone back up the next day or so. Good luck to you.

Well, my doc didn't ask for a progesterone test, and since I don't want to tell her I'm temping, I don't see how I can get my prog levels tested. :-(

I've pretty much decided I will not temp tomorrow, but it's very very hard to have the willpower not to.

What about telling your dr. you had a little spotting and would like your progesterone checked? Low prog can cause spotting. I truly hate to say that, but when you try to talk openly and honestly to dr.'s and get shut down, I'm not sure what the options are. Some things are just too important, like a pregnancy, and no one is more devoted to yours than you are.

Another hcg would probably tell you something, too. Are you feeling any cramping? The temps might just be a fluke--I've never temped too far into a pgcy, so don't have personal experience for you. I stopped temping this time because my temps weren't very high and it was too nerve-wracking.

That is a great idea! They might want to push an ultrasound, so be prepared for that whichever way you feel about it.

Thanks for the advice. I'm a bit too superstitious to say I've had spotting when I haven't, but I am going to call and see if I can have a scan this week instead of next. In the meantime, I'm not having cramps but when I woke up this morning (and DIDN'T TEMP btw) I felt some strange sharp/dull pains in the uterine area.

I'm worried, but I'm trying to stay positive.

Did you do a search on FF at the chart gallery? I found a lot of charts with huge jumps in their pregnancy temps from cd 15 on. They are all above the coverline, but they are up and down a lot (more then .4 degrees).

Me too! So glad everything's OK. Temping after BFP is not all that useful, it would seem...
