where can I find good homebirth videos?

I want my DD to watch some so she knows what to expect if she's present for the birth. A few days ago I found some on youtube, but today I've been looking and haven't found anything except photo videos--no actual video footage. Where else can I look?

I found lots on youtube, but you have to be signed in and certify that you are over 18 (many are censored, which might mean they don't come up on a search if you aren't signed in?). I found those movies-made-from stills, but also many live-action ones. They were great. We found waterbirth, women in squatting positions out of the water, natural birth in hospitals, birth centers... many with shots that were pretty close-up and, well, showed it all. Amazing!

My son (almost 4) had been begging me to let him see "a movie of how a baby looks when its being born" and I am a looooong way from my due date, so I am sure we'll revisit this closer to the day. He loved the movies.

We've also started talking about what happens when babies are born, what happened when he was born, different places babies can be born, different kinds of people who might help with the birth (I also want him to be prepared for the chance of a hospital transfer, and might bring him to a tour of the hospital for that reason). Emphasizing that its "a lot of work" to have a baby, that it can hurt the mom when the baby is coming out, and that her body is really, really tired afterwards, that its normal for the babies to be slimy or bloody when born, that babies all cry soon after birth, etc. I just don't want any of that to come as a scary surprise for him.

There were also a few nice scenes of gentle birth in "The Business of Being Born" which is available on Netflix, you could preview it and just watch those segments with your daughter.

subbing, i am due in 7 weeks and still haven't found anything interesting to show the kids but these youtube videos are a great start. i found TBOBB to be so boring for kids but i did fastforward to some of the birth scenes.

we just interviewed our first HB midwife (she was great! But she requested we interview at least two others, which we were planning to do anyway), and she had tons of videos to loan out. She highly recommended showing birth films to sibs. Maybe if you want more than youtube a doula, birth educator, or midwife would have more on hand.

You can find a ton of birth videos on my website, include homebirths and unassisted births. It's been mentioned here before. I started it at the beginning of the year and it's grown sooo much thanks to so many great mommies willing to share their videos!

No montages, just videos, and almost all of them are quite graphic.

And if you want to share your video send me a PM. I'm always looking for more videos. Even if you just have a hard copy I can convert it for you. (I'm also looking for advertisers too! I have a link to that on the site. I know there's a lot of small businesses sites here that would work well.)

If you join let me know and I will add you as a friend and she can watch mine. My daughter helped catch and was in the tub with me. I have it set to private for only friends to see because I didnt like some of the people who added it to their favorites. Let me know.

The Birthing from Within video is AWESOME too. There are a few where other children are present.

Subbing. I've downloaded a couple, but most of the ones I've found are the stills ones.

This thread reminds me I need to find my Clear Road to Birth dvd (it's been lost for months, hope I don't have to try to get another one) & get my books/videos back from my friend who had her baby last week.
