So they said on the news this morning that more kids died of the flu because they also had a staph infection...so EVERY child should get the flu shot. One more way to scare people.

Isn't there a HIB vaccine lead to more pneumonia...hence, Prevnar...and now more staph connection? And now there may be a staph vaccine?

How much more obvious could it be. Seems like we keep creating more problems.

Also, I got to thinking about AIDS. Isn't it hypothesized that AIDS was created by vaccinations- using the wrong monkey cells? And we know of ways to more naturally fend off and treat other viruses- are there any studies for natural treatment of AIDS?

This is a crazy world we live in.

AIDS was created by vaccinations?? I have never heard of it. Do you have any links on this??

There is a book called The River by Edward Hooper. I haven't read it yet. It is over 1000 pages of his research and experiences in trying to locate the origin of AIDS. I think he believes it was from using infected monkey cells in vaccinations given in Africa.

I saw a video on youtube about the vaccine/ aids connection. You may be able to search there and some info. Basically, they cultured vaccines in monkey tissues and later found out some of them may have been infected with Aids. If I remember right.

I'm glad somebody started this thread. It looks like 2006-2007 was the flu season with the big jump in flu-related deaths...they mention an increase in staph, especially MRSA, and also mention bacterial pneumonia.

Did Prevnar debut in 2006? Could there be an association?

We are not planning on vaxing DS or ourselves for flu (I'm sure the ped won't be happy...actually DS won't be 6 months until the end of January...what month marks the end of "flu season"?).

I guess I'm thinking about MRSA and other superbugs, and wondering whether an unvaxed, or selectively vaxed, child might be less susceptible to them because maybe they have enough "regular" bacteria in their eco-system that there's no room for these crazy ones to move in....? I guess antibiotics play a role, too. DS is only 2 months. He was exposed to antibiotics during labor via the umbillical cord (I was given them for GBS+ status)...but they only got one dose in us.

I'm just beginning to develop an understanding of how all this works.

Hoping some of the resident MDC experts will weigh in...

ETA: sorry, it was the RotaTeq that came out in 2006, I think...but Prevnar still counts as "recent" to me

Check out UTube or Mercola. There is a video where one of the head scientists for Merck talks about this with some people he was doing an interview for (but the AIDS part was cut). I don't know what this guy looks like so I really can't talk to whether it is really him.

Basically the story is that the monkeys they were using were contaminated with something so he had someone get him a certain species of monkey from Africa. It went into one of the vaxes.

There is another video out there on UTube, Mercola, etc. by a guy named Dr. Horowitz. He talks about how in some of the closed door meetings at a drug company (I think it was Merck) that they discussed how they crossed some diseases and turned them into AIDS.

The videos are on both sites. The one by the doctor actually has portions of the first video in it.
