Well i was scheduled to have the prepidil put in this morning at 8 am. We arrived got into a room, was checked and now im only 1 cm. Last week i was 2 but i guess it just depends on who checks it. She said im buttery soft, and cervix is still very posterior. So im sitting here contracting every 5 min and my back is killing me. She did say i will get some contractions and cramping but sometimes some woman go home and it goes away. So im pretty sure we will be going home after an hour or so. We will probably go take a very long walk and go down the street to another hospital to visit my sister who gave birth to her twin daughters last night! And if nothing happens by wednesday i will probably have another appointment to see where im at. If this doesnt put me in labor im refusing to do anythng else. She will come when she is ready. Wish me luck ladies. Oh yea and these contractions are getting painful, my back hurts and i can feel the contractions in my butt. Is that weird?

sending labor vibes you way...
hang in there!

maybe seeing your sisters babies will trigger something!

No not weird...sounds like your baby might be posterior (posterior cervix, back pain, butt pain ). As SOON as you get a chance lean forward, do hands and knees, do lunges...if you still have a computer near you go to spinningbabies.com for more suggestions. Before you get sent home, see if someone will tell you which side the baby's back is on....

Oh and Good luck!!!!! ELV coming your way!!!!!!

: I'll be thinking of you!

Also, a side note, spinning babies wasn't really working when I checked it a few days ago. They're updating so a lot of the site/info is incomplete so it's not very helpful right now. You might check it though just to see if the update is complete.

I second the suggestion that once you are able get up and active!!! Forward leaning positions (hands/knees, knees/chest) are good for trying to turn a posterior baby, but being upright and active will help these early contractions feel less intense. Whenever I've gone with doula clients for inductions as soon as the time limit is up, we're up and walking the halls! It's much more manageable than sitting in those uncomfortable beds! Good luck!

Good luck, Debra. You've got some good advice here re: posterior babes. Lots of pelvic tilts and paying careful attention to my posture helped mine change from posterior to LOA, thank goodness.

That's so cool that your sister has babies so close to when yours is due! Your LO will have cousins the same age. I think that's really neat!

ELVs - Keep us posted if you wish!

I swear during labor with my DS that if I hadn't known any better, I would have thought he was coming out my butt! That's where I felt the majority of the contractions, not fun. Good luck!

IM back at home. My cervix is posterior so im going to try some of those things. They monitored me for about two hours. I went to eat, walked a little and went to see my sisters. Came home and took a 3 hour nap and now i feel fine. The contractions went away I was hoping they would get stronger and more consistent. But no they arent. So i have an appt on Thursday. I will be 41 wks 1 day. She will be here soon. My midwife said she thinks i will have her by this wkend but at my next appt. they will be checking fluids. We will see

It won't be long now! I bet the contractions got some good work done. I hope you can get some good rest while you're waiting.

I'm glad to hear you're home since you can be more comfortable there. I hope things start to pick back up for you soon and end in your LO this time!

About an hour after i woke up from my nap i started to have some contractions again. I felt completely fine when i woke up at first. But there was only a few and they went away again. lol. Went to bed early last night because i was extremely exhausted you could see it in my eyes, they were puffy. And now today im feeling nothing. I was telling dh that im kinda glad that things just didnt happen there at the hospital. Before we arrived yesterday morning i was a bit mad at myself for even going to do it. Because i wanted things to just happen on their own and be home and labor at home ect. So now i have that chance again.

Yay! I'm glad you have that chance too. You'll be soooo much more comfortable!! ELV to you!

I'm glad you'll get that chance again too! I know it can be frustrating to go over - I went to 41wks 3d with one of my munchkins and I was going crazy. They also had my appt. set up to do all the tests - however, my baby decided not to be quite *that* late Hopefully you'll find things starting soon. Just keep getting the rest you need - don't feel guilty about going to bed early and getting lots of naps!
