Our original due date was Friday and wouldn't you know it, I woke up Thursday morning at 6:30 with bleeding and some decent contractions. We had plans to look at some apartments and visit my dad and some of our friends in Phoenixville - near Philly - about an hour an half away from home. Of course, by the time we get there the contractions got more and more intense. By 9pm we were at our friends house and preparing to get back home to have the baby at home, but DP was just way to freaked out and not being helpful - he was just scared but it still annoyed me. I got a bit upset and finally just said 'fine we'll go to the hospital' because there was no way I could drive myself home .. esp since we have a manual and I still haven't mastered it
of course
Anyhow, we finally went to hospital around 9:30 and discovered I was 7cm. Tuck - DP - and our friend Christina stayed with me throughout the whole labour, which was rather painful. By the time her boyfriend Joey got there we were at about 9cm. And as uncomfortable as Joey was (who is also very good friends with Tuck - the four of us spend most of our time together) he stayed right there to support me and help Tuck and Christina support me.
We knew we were getting close and Christina decided to step out for a bit since I was bleeding more and she was getting queezey (sp?) and I was in a position that only required one person to hold me. At 1:30 am my water broke and Maeleigh was born at 2:02 Friday morning (-:
Originally, her name was to be Deanna-Whren Mae after her big sister (Whren) and her angel mommy (Deanna Mae) who are both together, just not with us
. But Tuck started to get a little uncomfortable with the name as it became closer and closer to our due date. We started talking about other names. He really liked Molly but I still wanted to keep Mae in her name. So we put the two names together and got Maeleigh
A few days before she was born, we finally agreed to make Deanna-Whren the middle name, but after everything that had happened, we decided to change her middle name to Christina.
I'll add much much more when I write out her birth story later. I finally got a few minutes while she's asleep and before her bath. But I had to at least write a little something.
